Good Choice

We were very satisfied with this hotel’s service and amenities. It is, however, undergoing a renovation so our breakfast was in a temporary room with no windows or view. There is also major construction going on all around, and it was a challenge to identify the main entrance. Once inside, no problem. There were lots of places to eat very closeby, though as noted in other reports, the row of pubs on one side was noisy until 4 am. We also walked to Cardiff Castle for an entertaining afternoon there.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

If you don’t rent a car, getting into Cardiff from the airport is quite easy by public transport. A free bus picks you up outside the terminal, and about 10 minutes later drops you off at the train station. The bus is timed to meet the train. The train costs about 3 GBP into Cardiff Central or Queen Streets (approximate 25 min ride), and from there you can walk to your hotel. The Cardiff Marriott is closest to Cardiff Central Station.
