Very nice hotel,good location. Found hotel staff to be extremely helpful, We had an issue with a load pipe in the wall directly behind our bed, and a leak around the window. We were given a new room very quickly with no Questions asked. The rooms were very nice, CLEAN, Functional, and the beds are out of this world comfortable! Would definately stay at this hotel again.

Nice stay

Very comfy, nice restaurant in the hotel, very handy having the Starbucks by the reception, decent gym facilities, short walk to the metro. Just a pity it was not close to the route of the sightseeing buses - it would have been really handy.

Wonderful hotel! Close to Ballston (orange line) metro stop - lots of restaurants close. Would stay there again.

Great Stay!!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was clean and fresh. concierge service was helpful. The bellmen are just great! I ended up having conversations with them out front just because they were easy to get along with. They opened the door, helped with cab services or directions to your destination if you were walking. Balston is a very nice area. There is a mall one block from the hotel and plenty of restaurants within two blocks. As well as a movie theatre! So It was great. I met alot of diverse and interesting people during my stay!

Beautiful area to stay. I highly recommend this hotel. Area is full of things to do and places to go. Staff is reliable and friendly. Absolutely no complaints. I look forward to staying here again!

Great Location

Overall I was very pleased with my experience at the The Westin Arlington Gateway. It is ocnveniently located two blocks from the Ballston MetroRail station. Ballston station is on the Blue Line but transfering to the other Metro lines (Orange,etc) was very easy and hassle free travel to most of D.C. P F Chang’s is located directly across from hotel. The Ballston Mall is a block away with Macy’s etc, nice food court, and other restaurants located on the outside of the mall. Hotel is surrounded by condos, apartments and has nice walkways for walking. There is a Starbucks located inside the hotel. Hotel also has a bar / restaurant but unless you are on an expense account it might be wise to try PF Chang’s, the mall food court or other alternatives because eating/drinking in the hotel is very expensive. Hotel also has a very nice indoor pool area with exercise area. Dulles Airport is also relatively close. Hotel and surrounding area are dog friendly. Would definitely stay here again and already have recommended it to friends.

Nice hotel at a decent price

Clean and comfortable hotel without a premium price. Location is convenient as it is close to metro. Will go back next time in DC area.

I only stayed for 2 nights and i didnt have the chance to take the breakfast in the morning, so i cant really evaluate fully.. however, it was a good stay at your hotel.

Great Time in Ballston

The bed was so comfortable! I couldn’t believe how afordable this four star hotel was. My only complaint is that the pool was indoors and small and it was beautiful out and I wanted to swim outside. oh well.

Wonderful Quality, Excellent Service

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Westin-Gateway. The customer service provided by all levels of staff was friendly, professional, responsive, and courteous. The room was very comfortable and elegantly appointed. Although the food (diig -in) is pricy, the portions are generous and the quality/flavor was excellent!

Very nice and convenient place to stay

We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. We never actually ate at the hotel, except we did grab some things at the Starbucks inside one afternoon. However it was very convenient and there were lots of restaurant/food choices close by. Easy access to the metro. Parking at the hotel was not ideal, especially if you have someone coming over to visit, or out to eat, or pick you up--it’s valet only. The room was exceptionally clean, one of the best. Only one time in our 5 day stay did housekeeping forgot us.

This hotel is in a very nice part of town, with easy access to public transportation to get to the major attractions of the surrounding area. We would stay again.

Very Nice Hotel

The Arlington Westin Gateway is a very well-appointed, clean, comfortable hotel. It is conveniently located within 2 blocks of the Washington DC Metro, and there are also many restaurants located close by. I would highly recommend this hotel to any leisure/business traveler to the Washington DC area.

Great hotel

Everything was wonderful--beautiful rooms, everything was clean, people were very helpful. Our only complaint was that the restaurant, bar, and room service all shut down after 11:00 or 11:30 on a Friday night, so the only way to get any food or drink after getting in late was to use the minibar. Otherwise, I highly recommend it.

convenient area

Very nice and clean rooms. It’s a little out of the way from D.C. but the metro is only about 2 1/2 blocks away. There are alot of restauants in the area although most are closed on the weekends. The Starbucks in the lobby was a nice perk.

Arlington Gateway

The rooms were comfortable and clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was fantastic. Close to a metro stop and right across from a mall in case you forgot anything.

Great location, close to mall and metro.

Nice rooms with super-plush beds and unbelievably quiet to be in a busy area. Five minute walk to Ballston Metro Station and Ballston Commons Mall, which has many choices for food, shopping, and movies. Neighborhood is pleasant and seemed safe for walking around. The Westin had a very nice workout room and smallish indoor pool, both well maintained. We needed a rental car and Enterprise was across the street, even gave us a great deal. We stayed a week and would do it again.

Eat cheaper at the mall’s food court, lots of choices and pleasant atmosphere. Also, try the mall’s movie theatre, at least a dozen screens with several PG movies.

Hotel was good.

We had to ask for extra towels each day, they only supplied 3 and we needed 4. Nice location, away from the hustle of DC, but close enough that it didn’t take us that long to get to our attractions.

Nice location

This is nice hotel in a convenient location at a good last minute price. The hotel chain’s attention to comfort of the bed might be more effective if the walls were designed to be better sound barriers. For people looking for outside air, this is not the place for you. However, the ventilation system is new and quiet.

Wonderful place to stay while seeing the city

We are from Florida and as a single mom I traveled to DC before heading to NYC with 5 teenager girls. The location is perfect. A mall is a block away with several restaurants in walking distance. It’s very safe and clean. The staff was extremely helpful. Our luggage was in the room quickly, after the first night; they moved us to a corner room (so the roll away could fit) while we were out (very nice) and offered to print work documents I needed. It’s definitely worth the few Metro stops outside of DC to stay in this great location. If staying for a few days it’s worth it to get the Metro SmartTrip card (which CVS carries). In four days we only spent $10 on each of our cards. Can’t wait to go back.

A great place to stay

It was a great place to stay. The only disappointment was the state of the pool. We were travelling with our 2 children and purposly picked a hotel with a pool. The water quality was questionable, so we only went there once. We were so busy though that it did not miss the pool too much. The hotel is located in a real nice area with lots of great places to eat. The subway station is a 2 minute walk away and it only took about 15 minutes to get to the National Mall area. We did park our car in a garage 3 block away from the hotel (thanks to other people’s reviews) and only cost us a faction of the hotel’s valet parking charges. I would definitely stay in this hotel when next time in town.

Fantastic hotel, location, and value

We had a fantastic stay at the Westin, and I have already recommended it to friends. The room was immaculate, the concierge was friendly, funny, and most helpful, and the location was perfect. The metro was close by, there were plenty of nearby restaurants to walk to at night, and it was very easy to access the main roads when we took the car out. We lived outside DC many years ago, and take our kids there about once a year to see the sights. This is absolutely the best place we have stayed on a return trip to the area.

There are many delicious and reasonably priced restaurants just down the street. Our favorite was "Noodles." Also, the Kennedy Center has free entertainment at ~6PM each night, and RFK stadium (on the metro) had a great family package for seeing a DC United and DC Freedom soccer games. The parking here was convenient, but if you don’t know your way around DC, make sure to bring your GPS.

I went to Virginia a few days before my business trip so that my husband and I could take a little sightseeing vacation. This hotel was fantastic and definitely the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in!! I had to switch hotels because my company paid for the other one (Hotel Monaco) and I was so very disappointed. The Westin has great everything from service to quality. I will definitely be going back next year. :)

Arlington Gateway

Everything was good except for having no maid service for the first day and a half. When I told the man at the front desk about it, he asked if I had left the "do not disturb" sign on the door. When I told him no, he said that was the FIRST time he had EVER heard of that. All I wantd was clean towels. There was no need to accuse me of something I didn’t do. Everyone else was extremely friendly. Too bad I had to encounter him. We received an apology upon check-out. Everything else about the hotel was great.
