Friendly, helpful staff
I can’t say enough about the warmth and friendliness of the staff. Cheerful, lively, and helpful in all cases, a pleasure to visit them. Our room was admittedly "cozy", very small but comfortable and well-appointed. The common areas were tastefully decorated and pleasant to be in. The hotel overall is small, or intimate.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
We enjoyed walking the trails along the shore and wandering around the center of town. Found great pub food beyond the usual fish and chips in a pub a few blocks north of the hotel, Kent’s I think it was. Park your car and explore on foot. Drive to Dartmoor National Park for a day trip. Haytor is a good spot.
