Adequate
I stayed one night at this hotel because I was arriving late at Gare de l’Est and leaving early from Gare du Nord, and it is walking distance from both. I stayed in a ground-floor room at the rear (room 36) -- it was necessary to walk through a small courtyard. The room was a good size, but it was not cleaned very well -- the carpet needed to be vacuumed -- however, the sheets seemed clean. Despite being away from the street, there was a muffled, intermittent noise the entire time I was there -- like some kind of ventilation blower motor activating in the building next door perhaps. I didn’t keep me awake, but was a little annoying. Since I pre-paid on Expedia, checking in and out was quick -- they handed me a key when I walked in, and I handed it back when I walked out. I don’t think they asked for any identification, I simply said my name and was handed a key.

Good Value, Excellent Location
This is our fourth stay in London and definitely the best hotel for the price. Staff was courteous, friendly and helpful. A very adequate breakfast was included in the price, unlike other hotels I looked at on the Internet. Location is near the tube and, being by the Earl’s Court Station which has an elevator, is convenient for reaching Heathrow. Lighting is very adequate. The only drawback is that the space on each side of the bed is tight. We would definitely use this hotel again, if we stayed in London.
