nice
Hotel was nice, we had a ocean view room very nice!! Room was clean, service was good, breakfast waS GOOD, POOL WAS CLEAN AND WARM..would like to see vending machines filled and more washing machines and both ice machines working.
Go to marine science center has very nice walking trails.

Campy beach vacation
Makai Beach Lodge is a 50s style hotel that has seen better days. The upkeep is poor, but the location is ideal. The staff was great, I even received an upgrade to an oceanfront room and gift bags. My family loved going from the beach to the pool.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The lighthouse at Ponce Inlet is an interesting half day trip. Two hundred and three steps to the top of the lighthouse.

Very Dirty!
The staff was very friendly but the room was disgusting. When I arrived my door would not lock and the shower was not working but the staff fixed it immediately. The tub had soap scum and the kitchen floor was sticky. I stayed at the hotel for 4 days and the maid never cleaned the soap scum in the tub or mop the kitchen floor. Also I am absoultely positive the maid did not change the sheets either because my sheet had an ink stain on it. The good thing about the hotel is that it was located right on the beach and I felt safe. However, I can not recommend this hotel because of the condition of the room.
