Wonderful experience!
A truly first-rate hotel. The service was excellent. The staff was helpful and courteous. The room was huge and beautiful.My 8 year old daughter loved the pool. We would not stay anywhere else in Sydney.

Can’t wait to go back
A beautiful hotel located in " The Rocks". The service was fantastic! We arrived in Sydney at 6:30 AM and went directly to the hotel. Although they could not allow us to check into our room, they were very gracious and accomodating. They offered to hold our bags,and offered us the use of the spa shower to refresh ourselves. The rooms are beautiful and full of great amenities. The bathroom had a great shower and a nice deep tub. The only drawback would be for people who have a disability and could not get their leg over the side. They may have rooms more disability accessible, I would ask. The staff was efficient and friendly, they went way beyond their requirements. Great job!
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
We made use of a Sydney pass and were very satisfied. It was a great value and we made great use of this pass. The drivers were friendly and offered suggestions and advice. Be sure and make a trip to Paddy’s Market , lots of great buys! We bought all our souvenirs here.

Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Sydney!
I’m a frequent hotel visitor, and this hotel wowed me in every respect. My room was spectacular--clean, spacious, well-appointed, and every possible comfort had been thought about and provided--complimentary bedside water and tea, robes, heated towel rack, good lighting, turndown service, umbrellas, flashlights, and totebags for use while staying. I was consistently addressed by name by every staff person I interacted with. The concierges were knowledgeable, helpful and on top of every need and the public areas of the hotel were beautiful. Very well-located in The Rocks district and next to the Observatory. Couldn’t ask for anything more and hope to have a reason to go to Sydney again just to stay in this hotel! (Oh, the food was excellent, too!)
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Don’t miss the show at the Observatory next to this hotel. Make a reservation for a night show (reservations required), and you’ll have a change to view the Southern Hemisphere sky through an amazing telescope. Small exhibit area, but interesting.

Great Hotel
Excellent hotel. Staff very helpful. When I left something behind they found it and mailed it to me in Melbourne. I would stay there again. Fairly close to everything.

Outstanding hotel in a great location
I booked this hotel as a special treat for the beginning of our stay in Australia. Although the water view of Darling Harbor is good, but not spectacular (there is an empty parking lot between the hotel and the Harbor) we liked everything else about the hotel so much that we ended up splurging and returning to the hotel, instead of to a cheaper place, for the 3 days back in Sydney at the end of our trip. Rooms are very comfortable, and concierge is extremely helpful. We did not eat in the hotel, so I cannot comment on the restaurants.

The Korner Konvenience Store, a block south, has free wi-fi, good coffee and decent breakfasts.

A Definite Must!
Our visit took place in December 2008. The Observatory far exceeded our expections. The staff was friendly, responsive, and professional. The room was clean, elegant and extremely comfortable. I have already recommended this hotel to friends and would definitely stay again.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Don’t leave Sydney without climbing the bridge! It’s exhilarating without being over taxing. It’s very manageable and worth the 3.5 hour commitment. The staff is knowledgable and know how to make this a fun memorable activity. I HIGHLY recommend it!

Affordable Luxury
The Observatory is just a short walk from the Circular Quay, so the location is quite good. The hotel has a great "old world" quality about it. HIgh quality funiture and bedding. Some rooms with a good view of the harbour form a private deck. With a good rate through the internet, it has to be the best value in "The Rocks" area of Sydney.
