It is located very near from airport,they have trabsport bus. Staffs are.....ladies are NOT friendly at all,Cleanliness of room,they forgot something everyday.Around the hotel.there is nothing restaurant or cafe,but they don’t have breakfast service....... So 1 or 2 nights is enough,I think.I won’t use it again maybe.

Great location, but needs an update

The hotel had the perfect location and everything was fine except the carpet in the hallway was filled with nasty stains and the couch in the room had a stain on it that they tried to get out, but just made it worse. Because of location I’d stay here again but for an overall hotel experience I’d take my chances somewhere else.

Older hotel but a very good value with professional staff and airport shuttle

We stayed only one night and used the airport shuttle which was right on time.The room was large and clean .Would definitely stay there again when flying out of San Francisco.

Not impressed

Decent rooms, lots of unrealized potential with space and size. Free shuttle to/from the airport. (SFO) The hallways make you think you are in an office building, not a hotel. It has the appearance of always being renovated. For the price, and proximity to the airport, its an ok stay. If I was going to stay more than one night, I would have spent more and gone to another hotel.

Everything is fine but too close to airport

Everything is fine but the noisy of plane at night. Short distance to airport is its advantage and also its disadvanage.

If you’re in a hurry...Skip the restaurant!

I was happy over-all with the hotel, but the restaurant was understaffed. I waited for over 30-minutes for someone to even notice I was there. I was offered coffee, but nothing more.

HOTEL WAS GREAT

I really had a nice room, but rooms did not match internet picture. Rooms were older but nice. The price matched the room, I thought we were getting flat screen television visions.

Some good , some bad.

On the good side: The price was right. The outdoor area was quite lovely, and the hotel is only a 8-minute walk from the BART-- easy access to San Francisco. Near-by, a nice bay-side trail for exercise. The staff was very friendly and helpful. On the bad side, the hotel was not the cleanest. The curtains in my room had dark stains like BBQ sauce splattered on them. The hallways were dark and foreboding. This hotel could use a spruce-up.

Excellent concierge

I unfortunately had to book a hotel stay to get my flight out the next morning following a hospital stay. The concierge went above and beyond handling my baggage and conecting with the airport personnel to assist with my check in and gate transportion. The room was comfortable and inviting. The grounds were pleasant and well maintained.

Great deal for the money

This hotel is beginning to show its age, but the rooms are large and clean and the price is very reasonable. For business and tourists alike, the hotel offers an inexpensive refuge after a day’s work or sightseeing. Here one has a large, clean and comfortable room for 50-75% less than a comparable hotel room in downtown San Francisco. Yes, the hotels downtown might be newer, and nearer to many attractions, but for the budget conscious saving $100.00 per night or more is worth the distance. The hotel has a very good shuttle service that serves only one other hotel (the nearby Westin), and the shuttle schedule begins very early and runs very late at night. The airport, rental car agencies and the BART are easily accessible. The hotel restaurant is nothing special, but the food is good, and for those who prefer to stay in, room service is very good. If you have a rental car, or if you are driving your own vehicle you will pay $10.00 per night for parking, but considering you might pay 3-4 times this much for parking at a downtown hotel the price is low. Also, the hotel offers a "park and fly" program, but you must arrange this through the hotel. When I travel away for a few days or longer I always use the "park and fly" arrangement. I can stay in the hotel the night before my flight and again when I return. It is a benefit for those with early morning departures and late night arrivals.

Traveler's tip on dining

The hotel restaurant is nothing special, but the food is good, and for those who prefer to stay in, the room service menu offers a broad variety of things and the room service itself is very good. Although there are many good/acceptable restuarants in the area, they are not easily accessbile without a car or taxi, but using available public transportation, you can be in San Francisco within an hour where one’s choice for dining is limitless.

Will stay again

We had to catch a plane in the morning--took car back in afternoon-shuttle picked us up. Shuttle took us to the airport in the morning--very convenient. Close to airport, but we were not bothered by plane noise.

The hotel is very nice and well kept. The restaurant’s food taste and portions are also good. My only complaint would be the outrageous $10 per night for parking and that if you don’t have your laptop computer with you, you have to pay to use the internet. I believe that this 2 should be free for hotel guest.

Old, Beat up and Dirty!

Lobby deceives...very nice. Elevator was beat up and old. The hallway to the room was in bad need of vacuuming. The walls were damaged and gouged over the entire walk to the room. The room was in better, but not great condition. Everything was brown - rooms and hallway - kind of dark and depressing. Very disappointed - at "Three Stars", this hotel is over-rated. Vacuum the halls and repair the walls, then maybe a "2".

very unclean room

Blood on pillow, big thick hairs everywhere, stains covering walls in bathroom, yuck! you would be better off staying in a newer hotel with less stars. This should be a 2 star max!

good deal, close to airport

i stayed there for one night, my flight departed early in the morning so I decided for the clarion hotel close to SFO Airport and didnt regret my decision. I would definitly stay there again, Recommended!

Acceptable accommodation but you can do better

Hotel is dated back to the late 70s and it shows. Other than a bar/restaurant no other eating places in house. Room is roomy but rather dark with a very small window. Expecting microwave and mini fridge? Don’t. They are not there. Lobby, corridors, elevators, facilities can all use a major make over. Internet is wired (in room) and wifi in the lobby. Speed is slow compared to Starbucks. Other than the location is very close to SFO and large garden, the building itself is so so. Parking is extra ($10 per night) and can be a nightmare when parties are going on. Hotel staff, on the contrary, are quite sincere and helpful.

Traveler's tip on dining

Forget hotel food. Go down (West) Millbrae Ave. Hang a right (or left) on El Camino. You will find a galore of restaurants from McDonalds to authentic Hongkong dimsum to Korean BBQ. It’s only a 15 minute walk and trust me, it’s worth the time.

Good Value and Easy Access to the Airport

Because the Clarion Hotel offers good value for the money, and very easy access to San Francisco International Airport, I have used this hotel for years. I have stayed at other hotels but they do not offer the value for the money. I have read the complaints about the "condition" of the hotel, but I have never had a room that was less than exceptional. I have read the unfavorable comments about the hotel restaurant, but I have never had a bad meal there, and room service is good and timely. If I want to venture outside, there are several good restaurants nearby. I have read the complaints about the charges for parking, but the daily rate at the Clarion is less than the rate charged by other hotels in the same area, and, if you talk directly with the hotel, they do offer special parking rates when you begin and end your travels at the Clarion. Not a bad deal and it is not offered by other hotels in the area. This hotel is not a 4 or 5 star hotel, but the value you receive for the money you pay exceeds that that you receive from other hotels - I know, I have used them too. Another great thing about the Clarion is the shuttle service. The shuttle runs every 20 minutes from 4:00 am to the wee hours. While other hotels also offer shuttle service, their shuttle services stop at 4-6 other hotels, while the Clairon shuttle only stops at the Westin which is right next door. This is a traveler’s value hotel, not a hotel designed necessarily for long stays.
