Nice location in Paris
Nice and clean hotel, standard size rooms, helpful staff. Convenient location 10 minutes walk from Jardin du Luxembourg and 20 minutes from Notre Dame. Definitely recommend.

Lovely hotel
I chose Best Western because I am familiar with the chain and hoped I would be spoken to in English. I was happy that not only did most of the staff speak English, but they did not mind my speaking "broken" lousy French to them! Wonderful room, very tiny, only room for 1 person, but very nice and charming. ONly 1 complaint, the comforter was ripped at the seams at the top and bottom. Not very professional, in my opinion. The rug was a tiny bit worn, but everything else was up to par.
Traveler's tip
Be polite. Being polite and smiling helped me throughout my entire stay. I also found that "attempting" to speak a foreign language made people want to accomodate me. Like when Foreign people visitng my home town attempt to speak my language, I find it very charming. Common politeness works wonders.

Excellent: Value & Location!
This hotel is wonderful in terms of both accommodation and location. The rooms are small by US standards, but definitely adequate and in some cases large compared to other Paris hotel rooms in the same price range. My daughter and I spent 5 nights here in August--the room was airconditiond and very comfortable. The staff is very pleasant and helpful and English is spoken. Have them book a Yellow Van Shuttle to get you back to Charles DeGaulle--definitely worth it after a long trip vs. trying to manage bags on the metro in order to save a few dollars. A 5-10 minute walk away is the post office and Montparnasse train station and tower. You can visit the tower(under 10 euros)--56th/59th floor and roof top for a wonderful view of Paris and the Eiffel Tower. Plenty of restaurant around Montparnasse and a couple of Brasseries on the corners near the hotel.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Right across the street is the St. Placide metro stop and around the corner is the Rennes metro stop on another line. There is also a nice patisserie across the street near the metro stop and a small market and convenience store next to that. A 10 minute stroll takes you to Luxembourg Gardens and/or Boulevard St. Germain. 10 more minutes and you are at the Seine River, St. Michel Fountain, the Latin Quarter restaurants and Notre Dame Cathedral.
