Good for all the sights

Good location, 2 mins walk to the U-Bahn, which will take you anywhere! Everything is within walking distance, when it’s not raining (we went beginning of October, so be prepared for some mixed weather) Hotel staff very helpful and the carpet is a bit funky, you walk on a 100 dollar bill! Clean, quiet and generally a pretty decent hotel. Visit Schwarzwaldstuben near Orangienburger Strasse for good food and a relaxed atmosphere.

pretty pretty cool hotel

the best thing i liked about this hotel was, even if you put do not disturb sign on your door knob, they do not ignore you. They respect your privacy by not entering the room however they put new towels and shampoos and so on in a bag and hang it to your door. I thought that was really cool...

Lovely Place

Enjoyed the stay because it is extremely clean and quiet! Theme is a bit cheesy. Had just gotten free wireless in the hotel when we stayed. It was sloooow but functional for emails. Excellent location on a quiet street. Closest to the U-Bahn Märkisches Museum but Spittelmarkt is also just a block away!

modern, nice and cozy rooms

Location is not extremely central, but 10 minutes walking gets you to where you want to be, metro connection is great. the rooms are nice and cozy, modern cool design, comfortable bed, large bathroom. We did not have breakfast, and the common areas are basic and pretty empty (lounge bar is not "in and trendy" if that is what you want). Free wireless is 30 min per day only. The reception staff is ok but not very knowledgeable. Overall a nice and uncomplicated stay.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Neue and Alte Schonhauser strasse are great streets for cool little restaurants, take metro to Rosa Luxembourg square.

Nice place but.....

The hotel is located in the old east berlin. There was not much stuff going on near the hotel. My recommendation is to stay in a hotel in what used to be West Berlin. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Long walk to go see tourist attractions

East Berlin stay

This was a great place to stay. the staff was friendly as can be. I like the location no noise at all. The rooms were clean and cleaned every day. I stayed a total of 4 nights and not disappointed at all. Also you feel safe walking out at night around the area. close to shopping and restaurants and of course the main attractions are within walking distance. the restaurant is expensive but I never have seen a cheap hotel restaurant yet. Try the duck breast with mushrooms. I am going back next year and will stay there again.

elegant hotel near Berlin’s city center

This hotel has a beautiful historic facade (circa 1900 or so) but contains a reworked contemporary interior displaying an elegant, boutique-like ambience. Polite and pleasant staff (English-speaking, if necessary) and a great location near Berlin’s city center.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Near Friedrichstrasse, Leipziger Strasse, Unter den Linden, Alexanderplatz, Potsdamer Platz, Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag

Very Nice, Convenient Hotel

The hotel was clean, quiet, comfortable and in a good location with the U-bahn station just 1/2 block away. It is also within walking distance of the Nicolai Viertal where there are many restaurants. There is a bakery around the corner (a good place to get breakfast) and several grocery stores nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This was especially appreciated when we asked to change from a room with frosted glass bathroom walls to a normal bath. The glass walls might be nice for younger couples, but not to our taste. We spent a week sightseeing in Berlin and enjoyed the convenience the hotel offered. We have no hesitation recommending this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Traveler's tip on dining

Avoid the tourist areas and try the many good restaurants south of Nollendorf Platz.

Bad manners of hotel staff and hotel functional problems

The worst was to have to bear with the somewhat hostile attitude of some of the hotel staff (two of the front desk ladies and the manager on duty). Besides, there were functional problems: the bathroom is enclosed in a glass wall and a glass sliding door (maybe stylish but no visual, noise and oddor insulation!); the shower is not properly enclosed (you cannot avoid spilling lots of water on the floor); the magnetic key cards had to be reprogrammed 4 times during our 3 day stay; the lamp of the space that connected our two rooms could not be turned off (because technically it is part of the public corridor, but not nice when you try to sleep); the desk had some kind of protrusion (style?) that disabled a large portion of its (already scarce) usable surface; etc. On top of this, you would have to pay a ridiculuosly high rate for an Internet connection, and they charge for breakfast more than what it costs to have DINNER in the nice indonesian restaurant around the corner!. The decoration theme is Wallstreet, stock rates, dollar pictures on the carpet, banking rules quotations on the walls, a poster of 3 guys in extasis seing dollar bills fall as rain (behind the front desk), etc. Perhaps this was not just a funny decoration touch but indeed an early warning of the hotel policy.

Definitely Recommend...

The hotel was perfect for location and price, even the attic room that I had was comfortable, especially the bathroom. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly, they wouldn’t accept a tip for room services, after I requested extra towels...WOW The hotel is conveniently located to all major sights, plus the metro is less than a block away. The hotel was so relaxing and quiet, and very clean, plus tastefully decorated, I would definitely return!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

One must take a bus tour and a boat cruise to see the city, definitely visit Museum Island and Check Point Charlie for the history! The food isn’t that great, but very reasonable prices, however the beer is much cheaper than water...LOL

Good hotel great location

Quiet - excellent walking distance to Alexandrplatz which is a busy, thriving area. Old building, but very up to date. Everything well done - beds comfortable (euro style two twins mated together) Bathrooms nice - AC works (in rooms as well) Didn’t eat there - bar is quiet but service good -- A nice affordable place to stay

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

buy the berlin card from the train station - take the public transport - cab fare from tegel reasonable - you could fly to berlin from another european city for $80 round trip

Fantastic Boutique Hotel - Quirky but fun!

The Park Plaza Wallstreet in Berlin is a modern, artistic hotel done in a theme of Wall Street and money. The carpeting in my room was in the pattern of a giant US dollar bill. Cabinets flanked the bed, over which a quote about stocks was posted in four different languages. The hallway carpeting is done in a pattern of a stock ticker. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the decor is entertaining. The metro is less than a block away. I would definitely stay here again.

Good choice

Convenient location, easy access, just walking distance to Alexanderplatz (TV Tower). Good restaurants near. When arriving to airport, take surface metro (S-Ban)to Alexanderplatz and from there take underground (U-Ban) to Marrekish Museum.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Cheap Internet just two streets away (ask at reception).

Very Impressed

Very impressed with the level of accommodation and service based on the price. Truly great value for a high standard of comfort.

Traveler's tip on dining

The breakfast buffet and dinner service in the hotel should not be missed! Marvelous food and great service!

Great location for exploring Berlin, lovely staff, helpful and friendly, nice bar and great food in the restaurant. Superior room not a bad size, bathroom a great size and coffee and tea making services good. Really like the hotel and would go back.

Great joint, but business oriented

The hotel facilities were the best we had in Europe. The bathroom was ultra modern and glistened anew every day. The only catch, the place is very business oriented, the lobby and bar were home to a constant flux of kinda out of place guys on the prowl. Service was wonderful and the staff couldn’t have been nicer.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

This place is right between two U-bahn stops on different lines, great location for hoping on the train to speed to the sights

Quiet, Comfortable, Freindly

Friendly and helpful staff; convenient access to U-Bahn Markishes Museum stop; high ceilings and windows very nice - large open room floor plans. Excellent workout and sauna facilities; great food - both room service and restaurant/bar area. Only lacking attention to detail in room preparation - missing room service card, inconvenient placement of coffee machine/snacks - very cramped. No DVD player available in the entire hotel, no alarm clock in the room, no method of playing music CDs.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Take the city bus tour early in the stay to get the overview of shopping, museums, art, etc. Then pick out specific points of interest, purchase a day pass on the U-Bahn/S-Bahn. Kurferstendamm, Alexander Platz, Sony Center, Checkpoint Charlie, Unter den Linten, tour of Reichstag, Brandenburger Tor areas are a must see.

for a refreshing night’s sleep

On a quiet street but very close to U-bahns, this new hotel combines modern design with remnants of the past at least in the stairwells. Rooms are well-designed, great bathrooms and very comfortable beds. Appreciate hotels who have electric kettles for tea lovers who hate coffee taste in pots. Internet access was expensive.
