OK stay in Leadville
Overall our stay was ok (1 night), at first we were put in a smoking room and it was evident by the smell as soon as we opened the door. Talked to the front desk and they immediately moved us to a non-smoking room, which was also a bigger room (2 beds). The biggest complaint would be the beds, the mattresses weren’t very comfortable, we actually took the blankets off the second bed and slept on them so there was more cushioning between us and the mattress. Other than that the room was comfortable and spacious. The continental breakfast was really good, waffles, cereal, fruit, etc.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Horseback riding is about a 5 minute drive from the hotel, fun time and reasonable rates. Also hundreds of great hiking spots nearby including some of Colorado’s 14,000+ ft peaks.

Nice but Noisy
This is a clean hotel and could be a good value except for the fact that we were awoken at 1 AM by loud shouting, laughing and swearing by the guests in the room across the hall from us. I called the front office to complain, but no one picked up the phone. I left a message on their voice mail about the problem. The rowdy behavior continued to keep us awake until around 4 AM when some of the group left. In the morning when we went down to breakfast I told the woman at the desk of the problem, and she said "There were lots of complaints about the people in that room. Their boss is going to be very upset with them. They’ve been living in the room for over a month, and are preparing to go back to Texas. I guess they were just letting loose before they left." This is an unacceptable response. They should have someone on duty at night to deal with these kinds of issues. We will not stay there again.
