Truly a place of relaxation, comfort, nature, wonderful service and fabulous dining.

The epitome of first class accomodation and service in the breathtaking, rugged northwest. Located away from everything and everyone, at the end of a spit surrounded by the Pacific Ocean.

On the border of Canada

We had a very relaxing time with our three kids. The staff was great. The only problem we had is the hotel is so close to Canada, our cell phones were roaming on Canada’s cell towers the entire time we were there so we couldn’t use them without roaming charges. Other than that, a beautiful and most excellent stay!

Not worth the price

Hotel is nice but not worth premium for business travel unless you are visiting at time when you can be outside. Website shows several restaurants but only one was open duing my visit. Staff was not very friendly.

Not impressed.

Banging noises came from the air conditioner/heater. In the middle of the night, the family awoke to loud noises in the floor above, sounded like a 747 taking off.

Wonderful Place to Stay

We stayed for two nights. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Internet access, great service and wonderful food. The entertainment was also great in the oyster bar.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Great golf and food.

Lovely venue but the hotel is showing her age

Located at the end of Semiahmoo Spit, the hotel and spa takes full advantage of beautiful scenery and local wildlife to impress visitors and staff alike. What is rather disappointing is the amount of deferred maintenance in the hotel rooms and common areas. The grouted tile in the bathrooms is stained and mill work around doors and windows is nicked and scarred from years of suitcases and carts banging around. The carpet in the hallway is stained and worn in heavily traveled areas. It doesn’t appear that the carpet has been replaced since the hotel opened in the late 1980’s. Soiled napkins in the hallway were not picked up during our 3 day stay and the elevators were dirty. Despite these deficiencies, both food and service at Packer’s restaurant excelled!! Nice menu selection and friendly staff.

Enjoy the pool and the lovely walks along the spit.

GREAT SETTING--FABULOUS SUNSETS!

Beautiful water front location! Large, nicely appointed rooms. Only issues were person(s) in room above me sounded like a hurd of elephants walking about--you could hear every foot step. Also the heating/air conditioning system has noisey blower.

Beautiful hotel by the beach!!

Very nice hotel with beautiful grounds!! The wooden rocking chairs & umbrellas by the beach are perfect for watching sunsets &/or for enjoying a drink with a spectacular view. The outdoor seating for Packers Lounge bar & restaurant had a long waiting list for dinner that saturday night, so we ate inside instead. But it was so loud inside that when we told our waitress that my son’s burger was burnt black three times, she still thought everything was ok. Breakfast at the Stars Restaurant was wonderful tho. So overall, we enjoyed our stay, and would definitely go back again.

The Birch Bay Waterslides is just minutes away and is fun for families.

Lovely Hotel

The hotel itself was lovely. The only issue I had was with the staff in Packer’s Lounge. They really need to work on their customer service skills. We were there over a holiday weekend. It was very busy and you expect things to happen, but a smile can make or break your experience.

Comfortable Hotel

Very comfortable spacious rooms. Would not hesitate to go back. We have stayed here before but think it has changed ownership so it was a little different not quite so upscale. There were some renovations taking place. New carpets being layed downstairs by the elevator. Maybe they should be cleared away at night.

Traveler's tip

Lovely ocean views

Not the view described.

I sent my husband and son here, 30 minutes out of their way, to enjoy the view. They had a view of the parking lot. The staff was rude at check in, denied they had his reservation or any rooms at the price I told him I paid online. After several phone calls, someone notice the fax sitting in the basket with his reservation.

Maintenance

Overall the hotel and spa were great. However, the pipes were rattling in the walls when we or the room next to us took a shower.

Just OK

The room condition, a waterview king, was fair. The bathroom is tiny, old, tired looking, and unventilated. The floors need shampooing. The view is incredible. Very quiet except for the occassional horn from a passing boat. The food was goos at Stars, the service was fair. The room service food and service were lousy. After informing the food & bev manager, the charges were reversed.

Comfortable Atmosphere

Except for the crowd and lack of parking when the wedding party arrived. The stay was great. Loved the relaxed and friendly environment. Could use bike rental service.

The ferry is worth the ride. Not much going on in Blaine but the Blackberry is a good place for a sandwich.

Not Worth It

I thought that the hotel was very overpriced. There was no parking at all and the hallway was full of smoke. The staff was very nice and that was about it. I was disappointed.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

If you are driving then eat in Vancouver or Bellingham before you arrive in Birch Bay. The food was overpriced and atmosphere was "stuffy."

Will defiantly stay again!

Great place to get away for the weekend. Great place to relax, enjoy the views, and feel away from everything.

Once is Enough.

Hotel Elevator expired on the last day of our stay in a handicapped room on the third floor. Room Service delivered a cold hamburger and an eleven dollar burger turned into twenty without tip, when a chocolate milk was added.

Most the recreational facilities are outdoors, except for the weight room. The weather was in the 30-40 degree range, which makes for a brisk dip in the pool, or game of tennis or golf. Not worth the expense, or drive from Bellingham. This is a once only type of visit.

Beautiful spot any time of year!

This hotel property is so pretty. You can walk on the beach, or just sit inside drinking coffee. The restaurant/bar Packers has incredible food.

Very satisfied

This visit was for a father/daughter time out. We really liked the place, food was good - menu is limited though, waterfront, comfortable rooms, racquetball courts, etc. The only negative item was that when we arrive late in the morning, we were told that the room would be ready in 1/2 hour. But it was more 3 hours later that we got our room.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Mountains about 2 hour away, Vancouver less than 1 hour away, if you go to Seattle, must visit the underground.

great service, beautiful resort.

The staff were all friendly, and the room was super nice and big. Not much to do around there - might be the last "major" small town before crossing the border to Canada. It’s a very quiet place - good getaway with nothing to do but relax kind’a place.
