Great Stay

This hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our visit and will definitely consider this hotel again should our travels take us back to Indian Wells. When reception staff realized our daughter had been in the car for 15+ hours with two small children, she received a complimentary upgrade to a suite to give them all a bit of "elbow" room. What a treat for them... we all appreciate the kindness and professionalism that seemed to be the norm for Indian Wells Resort staff.

Not impressed

Clean hotel, but the service needs improvement, arrived late, front desk gave us wrong directions to our room, prices on the room service menu were not what was charged nor were the ingredients what came on the food. And the lack of any protein in the morning breakfast....Holiday Inns do it better.

Older Beautiful Hotel

This was Dezi and Lucy’s hotel years ago. It has been kept up well. Rooms are extra large and clean. Staff is not only friendly, but very professional. One of the staff members informed us of someone using our room number for their bar bill, so we were able to staighten out all the charges before leaving. The location is perfect, scenery gorgeous, price right.

Weekend Getaway

It was a last minute getaway, this was our second stay here. Check-in took less than five minutes, front desk staff was very helpful. Room was very nice, we had the suite, kids slept in the living area, plenty of privacy. Pool was REAL nice, plenty of people, the only negative thing is that it took bar staff a while to bring your drinks. Also, drinks are not cheap, we went to store and brought our own. Happy hour was fun, they had a Frank Sinatra impersonator, he was GREAT (sorry, I forgot his name!!)!! Free food and drinks 50% off, not bad (during happy hour)! Morning ’free’ breakfast is adequate, if you want to order, you can, but, IMHO, not worth it. They had bagels, toast, cereal, fruits, milk, muffins, breads, etc.... We did not eat at hotel. Overall, very satisfied, we will stay there again when we opt to stay at a smaller type resort. We took friends with us, they loved it also! Not a bad deal for the price!

Not Impressed

This hotel was reviewed on a website as a 3.5 out of 4 star, resort. That is not the case. This is at best a "Class C" property. First, the carpets are stained through out. Second, it has the most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever seen. They are cheap Motel style beds. Low and flat. Third, the room furnishings are old and dated. The TV was so old and beat up it looked like it was from the 80’s. As did the bedspreads. The armoire, desk and table set were shabby chic, Tiki Style from the 1970’s or prior. The food was Denny’s or IHOP quality. On the positive side, the staff are Friendly and Helpful. And they provide a free breakfast buffet every day for you and a guest. But if you’re thinking ok the place accross the street got 4 stars. And this is just 1/2 a star below, so I’ll split the difference. BIG MISTAKE. I’ve stayed at the 4 star place across the street, and it’s MUCH better. And the heartbreaking part, I could see that hotel from my balcony. This hotel has a great location, and good bones. With some TLC from say a major chain, it could be great. Also, I read reviews from more than one traveler complaining about tons of kids at these resorts. I had the same complaint. Someone should come up with a kid free resort in this town. Or if there is one, tell me. The pool was like Splash Zone, at an amusement park.

Not comfortable

Don’t be fooled by the label "resort"- this is an economy hotel at best. The bed didn’t have form fitting bottom sheets and bunched up quickly, not one of the four pillows was comfortable, the shower water pressure came out like a fire hose, nearly collapsing a lung, and the coffee maker was on it’s last legs. I left a day early and won’t be coming back to this "resort" nightmare.

Great time at the pool

Will the valet guy was the nicest man. He did anything and everything for all of the guests. He was friendly (not in the phony friendly) but in a I’m glad to help you kind of genuine friendly. Housekeeping was quick to respond to our request for extra supplies. Rooms are a little outdated and furniture could use a good cleaning, but overall we had a great time. Breakfast buffet was under parr, but prices were cheap if you wanted to order breakfast, although lunch and dinner prices were high.

Could be Great, but wasn’t

Older hotel that has been renovated, but still needs work. First room, the A/C was not cold. Front Desk moved us across the hall. Nice cool A/C, but it wasn’t made up yet! So, upgraded to a suite- nice room, comfy bed & cold A/C! Just glad my wife never saw the huge cockroach in the second bathroom! Also compted 2 meals in the restaurant. The food was so bad, we walked out! You could here the next door TV & people walking upstairs! Nice lobby & pool, but sadly, I think that Lucy & Desi would be rolling in their graves!I would never go back!

Come Again

My father-in-law lives in Indio. My husband and I enjoy staying at the Indian Hills Resort because it is conveniently located to restaurants, etc. The hotel is consistently comfortable and relatively quiet. After a long drive from Simi Valley, arriving at the hotel is a welcome respite from the pressures of the day. The bartender makes us feel like welcome guests and the overall atmosphere of the hotel is luxurious. We will stay again.

Traveler's tip on dining

Has a nice restaurant and bar, reasonbly priced for the area. Also, conveniently located to a lot of shopping and restaurants.

We had noise problems

We have been going here for years. There was alot of noise above us until about 1:30 am. Told hotel auditor, he did not help much, so we left the very next morning. Told hotel manager and staff. They do know us as regulars and hopefully they will acknowledge.

Pleasant surprise

I picked this hotel for a brief one night stay in the Indio area based on price, and reader reviews on Expedia. I have never gone wrong with such an Expedia choice before. My only problem, and this had nothing to do with the hotel, is that my GPS unit did not recognize Indian Wells. The only way I found the place was by scrolling through hotel listings near Indio. So check your unit before you leave, and arm yourself with an old fashioned map if necessary. They have a nice Happy Hour, with an abundent free snack table. Cheeses, veggie dish, tortilla chips, pico de gallo, bean/sour cream/guacamole dip. I think it runs from 4:30 to 6:00, but the bartender was flexible with the 6. The free continental breakfast buffet had a good selection of typical items.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Make use of the Happy Hour buffet

It’s the desert - the AC should work!

For the mid-week price it was a value. Lobby and grounds are nice. Rooms are a bit dated and the AC was basically non-existant.

Very comfortable room!

The bed was plush; the room was huge; the closet size was double or triple the regular size; the bathroom was beautiful! I was very impressed for the amount of money paid!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

This resort is outside Palm Springs - 20 minutes away from shopping, fine dinning, and nightlife.
