Don’t Judge A Book By Its Cover
This hotel is fine in terms of the lobby, concierge service, and certainly location, but the condition of our room was deplorable. We had NO CONTROL of the thermostat (which was dangling from the wall and wrapped in black hockey tape) and the room was sweltering. Furthermore, the rugs were trashed beyond recognition, as though mud had been ground in to the carpetry. The beds were rock hard, the walls were paper thin (we could hear our neighbors next door and in the hallway). The hotel has clearly not been updated since 1980 at the latest, so furniture was stained and decrepid looking. All in all, this hotel was a HUGE dissapointment. Do not stay here!!!

Fortunately, you are within walking distance of three major attractions in Seoul staying at the Koreana, namely Cheongyecheon Stream and two major palaces (Deoksugung and Gyeongbokgung). Despite proximity to landmarks, it is still not reason enough to stay here.

Koreana good cheap option
I had read Expedia mixed reviews on this hotel and wasn’t sure if I would like it but because it was also recommended by Seoul locals, I booked it. The hotel was fine although not as deluxe as the business hotel I had stayed in days before. The carpet had a lot of wear but the sheets and bedding were nice and the room included extra blankets and toiletries. Location was great with plenty of transportation, dining, and entertainment options. Recommended for budget travel.
