Would absolutely return.

Arriving at the hotel entrance was a shock and the lobby made my heart stop but the speed getting into my room was terrific. The next surprise was no automatic bell hop to take me to my room nnless I specifcally asked was a surprise but the appearanc of the room made up for everything. It was attractive and extremely clean. The bathroom was a nice size though no bathtub. My room was a club and it was fine as I was alone but I understand the standard is much larger. This s a social club so the gym is really great.. The location was fantastic. Across the street from Rockefeller Center. The only drawback is no paper and no phone book

Almost very good

Good points: Location, location, location for mid-Manhattan tourist sites, especially Broadway theaters (but without being in Times Square), MOMA, Rock Center/Radio City MH (next door), St. Patrick’s (1 block), Fifth Avenue stores; Carnegie Hall about 8 blocks. Several all-night delis and moderate-priced (for Manhattan) restaurants (Brazilian, Italian, Irish) nearby. Clean rooms. Friendly desk staff and housekeeping staff. Modern bathroom fixtures, flat-screen tv, fridge. Comfortable mattress. Not-so-goodo points: Small rooms, even for Manhattan. No comfortable reading chair, just a desk chair. No closet, just a cubby with a rack. No space to store luggage. Not many drawers. Only 2 elevators, and they had problems reading your keycards. Hardly any lobby: 1 couch & 2 chairs. Few rooms have any nice views. Overall, though, a nice find and a bargain compared to some older, less-recently renovated hotels in the same vicinity and price range.

Don’t buy tickets from the young folks walking around the line at the TKTS booth in Duffy Square. They often don’t have legitimate tickets, or have partial-view tickets (but don’t tell you),

Great Location

We were able to walk every where we wanted to go in about 10 minutes. Never had to get a cab except to/from airport. Also, we did a 3 day hop on/hop off bus tour and one of the stops was Rockfeller center so we could get on and off close to the hotel. The room was small but comfortable for two people willing to share a bed. The view we had was looking out to Rockefeller Ice Rink and St. Patrick cathedrial. Service was very helpful and friendly, room was very clean.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

This hotel was 2 blocks from Rockefeller Center and about 1 block from 5th avenue shopping and about 5 blocks from Broadway.

Great for a 3 day visit.

I had a very nice stay here and for the rate I paid (surely a big off-season discount) I don’t think I could have asked for better. I was there Monday-Wednesday, before Labor Day Weekend- so the very end of the summer season. Had I paid normal/average rate, I would say it was very overpriced. I had a room on the 16th floor which was quiet, spacious, clean and well equipped. The bathroom was nice too, but as it has a sliding frosted glass door that doesn’t really offer privacy (or shut tightly), I wouldn’t have wanted to share the room with a friend. The location was great, right on the egde of Rockefeller Center - quite pleasant and handy. Lots of places to grab a decent breakfasts for only a few dollars on your doorstep. This is not the place to stay if you want lots of service, a lobby bar, restaurant, etc. - none of which I was looking for. The only thing on which I would give lower marks was service- and even then most of the people who work the front desk are polite and helpful (not necessarily friendly or welcoming, but polite). There was person, however, whom I found extremely rude. I would recommend this hotel to single travellers or perhaps a couple in town for a few days. If I am entirely honest, though, I have this lingering feeling that I got "lucky" and had a good stay, whereas at a busier time of year or under other circumstances it might not have been as peaceful and pleasant.

Great value

Hotel was a great value compared to other comparably priced hotels. Great location in the heart of the city. Staff was courteous and informative. Room was large by NYC standards and very clean and comfortable. For a couple it is a great place to stay.

I don’t think Rockefeller stayed here.

The single storefront door and tiny lobby are very easy to miss upon arriving. Our room was small (expected) with a 20+ foot ceiling (crazy design perhaps unique to our room). The fold out sofa bed was very uncomfortable. No fan in bathroom so expect a a faint musty odor when you arrive and a chronically steamy mirror. Overall, an OK place for the price assuming you don’t plan to spend a lot of time in the room.

Outstanding location

This very stylish and comfortable hotel is located across the street from Rockefeller Plaza and close to excellent restaurants and entertainment venues. We stayed there five nights and had a good sleep every one of them.

Better than imagined!

First visit to NY.I was extremely satisfied with the hotel. Great location, attentive customer service, wonderful room. Separate sitting area with desk and kitchette was a plus! Small lobby but hey, who stays in the lobby in New York! Would definitely recommend this hotel. You can walk to many attractions from this hotel.

Drink lots and lots of water. I couldn’t seem to quench my thirst.

Location and comfort - good stay

Central location opposite Rockefeller Center Plaza and near 5th Avenue, a few blocks from Times Square and Central Park - easy walking. Small reception/lobby so a few times no room to move. Studio room would be okay for 2 but with 3 adults a bit crowded. Sofa bed was broken but fixed on request. Bathroom great and kitchenette with microwave and fridge stocked with crockery and cutlery. A toaster would have been useful. A/C and Internet connection terrific. Little noise. Reception organised car for transfer to airport. Would stay again.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

The subway is easy to use once you work out the numbering system - go to Information Centre in Times Square for instructions on how to use subway, maps and free Internet access.

A great place to stay!

I was most impressed with the security and location of the hotel. It was also comfortable, quiet, and clean. Two things it offered that was a plus was the printing capablilites (from your computer) from your room and the bottled water that the hotel provided.

Rockefeller Rocks

Location location location. Walk to Rockefeller Center, the Today show, Broadway etc, Quiet and secure. We had so much fun in NY we got lost and missed our check out time! The hotel was very nice and didnt charge us any extra, all with a smile.

Traveler's tip on dining

Right next door you can get a breakfast omelette with toast , potatoes etc, for $4.00. Same place has Great pizza, calzones etc for lunchtime! Exit hotel and go right, same side of the street.

Great Location and Comfortable

Selected this hotel for the location as it is right beside Radio City Music Hall which were going to see a concert. We arrived very early on the Saturday (9am while check in isn’t until 2), the self check in machine said that we were not able to check in. However the girl at the front desk was able to. Although my friend and I were not able to get two twin beds we settled for the Queen as we wanted to drop our bags and freshen up. The room was small but comfortable. When I come to New York I don’t come to spend my time in the hotel other than to sleep. The floor was quiet and loved the free bottle water on the floor. I will definately stay here again.

Wonderful location - 1 block from everything!!

Obviously, you can’t go wrong with this hotel’s location. The rooms were very nice and our "queen size" bed was the largest queen size bed I ever slept on. Bathroom was clean and stylish and my friend slept on the pull out couch bed and said it was the most comfortable couch bed he’s ever slept on. The staff was nice and helpful. The elevator situation was a bit strange - having to insert your key to input your floor. It didn’t make me feel any safer - just frustrated. Bottom line - I will stay there again.

Great location but noisy room

The best thing about this hotel is its location across the street from Rockefeller Center. It is within easy walking distance to restaurants, bus stops, subway stops, St. Patricks Cathedral, etc. My room was on the 3rd floor at the back of the hotel and was quite noisy due to air conditioning equipment just below my window which seemed to run non-stop throughout the evening. The room (including the bath) was quite clean although the bed sagged and was not very comfortable.

Traveler's tip on dining

The restaurants at Rockefeller Center come in all types and price ranges. Be sure to go to the "Top of the Rock" rooftop viewing area which has fabulous views. I purchased the package which included a ticket to the Museum of Modern Art. Its a good value.
