A good choice, but not a luxury hotel
The RIU Seabank hotel was a nice hotel, somewhat frayed around the edges, but overall a good location next to one of the nicest beaches in Malta. The beach, by the way, is NOT part of the hotel, and you will have to pay for lounge chairs should you wish them. We went during shoulder season (October) and the place was still very busy - breakfast was a zoo and the food average at best, but the rooms were nice, housekeeping was very responsive, and the location is convenient to many things (ferry to Gozo, Red Tower, Popeyes village) without being smack in the middle of the city. The restaurants were not very impressive, but few of them in the area were. We were upgraded to a terrace room, and very much enjoyed the porch. So much so, in fact, that a regular sea view room would have been frustrating - the balconies seem tiny. The Kids club for children over 4 seemed very popular. Generally, the hotel was fine, and a good base for our explorations, but the special touches of a good hotel were absent - if you can live with that, youd be happy here.
