Good choice for the money
The Overland Park LaQuinta is a good choice for people who want the basics without breaking the bank. It’s located close to shopping malls if that interests you. Our room was reasonably sized, with a queen bed and a sofabed. The bathroom was nice -- shower/toilet separate from sink area. The mattress was good, not great, with a mattress pad that came loose and bunched up during the night. One big plus is the free breakfast. The dining space was airy and pleasant. There was usually one hot choice such as sausage and scrambled eggs, or biscuits and gravy (what do people see in those?), plus an assortment of cereal, baked goods, and make-your-own belgian waffles. Yogurt was strictly artificially sweetened -- why? Fruit selections were limited -- not surprising in a town where restaurants don’t seem to know what vegetables are. In short, decent accommodations with an attractive extra in the breakfast room.

Nice, quiet & close to where I needed to be
The hotel was easy to find using Google Maps. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the stay was mostly quiet. The location was convenient to the highway and the room was clean & well stocked with towels and necessities. My one complaint would be the smell from the service area on the way to breakfast. I’m not sure if it was from the kitchen or the laundry, but it was not very pleasant. Once in the breakfast area, I didn’t notice it. Breakfast itself was adequate and the staff kept up with stocking items as they ran out. Altogether, it was a good experience.

Worth the price.
Rooms could use some updating in decor and linens, yet are clean & maintained well. Breakfast was fresh with lots of choices. Nice pool and gardens. I’d stay here again.
