Good standard room
This was a good standard room. The hotel looks recently refurbished, so everything was in good condition. Location is pretty convenient, across the street from Southern Cross station, which is also where the airport bus comes in. This is basically at one end of the Melbourne CBD so there is a walk to many destinations. But there are trams right outside, and the free city circle tram stops 3 blocks away. Overall I had no problems going anywhere. The room is fairly standard for a business hotel, but met all my needs. Bathroom and shower were better than average with plenty of water pressure and hot water. The room was quiet, I didn’t hear noise from the street or other guests. One unusual feature was controls for all the lights and AC on the front of one of the bed tables, an unusual position. But it was handy to have light switches nearby. There was also an alarm clock (although you can’t see the clock easily - too low, facing the wrong way) that was tricky to use - it went off in the middle of the night and took a few tries to turn off. I didn’t eat in the hotel (my rate didn’t include breakfast) so I don’t know how the restaurant is. There are plenty of places in Melbourne to eat. There is a convenience store across the street (and many in Melbourne) so it’s easy to avoid the ridiculously overpriced minibar.
When the Parliment isn’t in session there are free tours of the building. It’s quite impressive to see.

Clean, Central, Quiet
Very well presented. Breakfast was one of the best presentations and service we have experienced for this price range. Very quiet rooms considering how central we were. Would definately recommend it. Will look forward to staying again, great value. Thanks to staff for making a pleasant stay and nice to see even the bathrooms were kept up to standard.

Vibe Savoy in Melbourne, Australia
This hotel is extremely convenient as far as location. It is right across the street from the Southern Cross Railroad station, and the Skybus from the airport takes you right there for $16AUD ($26 AUD round trip). It is also right in the CBD and so many of the places you would like to visit are within walking distance. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to explore Melbourne.

Right across the street from the hotel is the DFO, which is an outlet mall with many different types of merhandise, including food and a Starbucks.
