Perfectly Fine Hotel
The Westin is one of the nicer hotels in Pittsburgh and overall I found it perfectly satisfactory and comfortable. I had seen some reviews on line that made it sound like it was almost sort of a dump, that is just not so. Its a modern, clean hotel with the full range of services. Pluses: Convenient location. Plenty of amenties. ATM and gift shop with snacks in the lobby. The doormen and bellmen are really on the ball - the front of the hotel is always hopping and these guys are on it. Clean modern room with a nice view. Big bathroom with a double showerhead. Minuses: The phones in the room do not work properly. You can only use them as speakerphones. The staff are courteous until you have a question or issue, then they become visibly annoyed. The hotel restaurants are poor options, the seafood restaurant is ridiculously expensive for mediocre food and service, and the breakfast restaurant is odd and sterile with sloppy service. Almost all hotels seem to have sound issues, but I will say it was worse than some at the Westin. Any conversation in the hall just leaks in and sounds like it is in your room. Overall, its a perfectly decent hotel. It has its share of small problems but its an acceptable choice if you find you are forced to visit Pittsburgh.

"would stay again but expensive"
Great place - expensive but high quality. You get what you pay for but might be out the reach of the normal persons pocket book.
