Good hotel with convenient location to airport

Very good hotel for early flight or late arrivals due to location near airport. Hotel was very nice, resturant meals were very good. Bed was very comfy!

Close to Airport - but not worth it....

Proximity to the airport was great, and they have a complimentary shuttle. However, we booked into our room, and the A/C didn’t work. This was in August, very hot outside. They did send a maintenance guy to fix it, but he couldn’t. So they moved us to another room. This A/C didn’t work either. 2 light bulbs were burnt out, and the shower left about 1/2" of water over the entire bathroom floor. They let us use another room for the shower. The restaurant served good food, though. All in all I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, as it was high in the inconvenience factor!

If you are staying a couple of days in Barcelona, I recommend you use one of the sightseeing busses that tour the city. Get a 2-day on-off pass. Ride the bus once to see everything, then ride it again getting on and off at those sights you really want to spend time at. Visit the old Cathedral by Gaudi around 4pm and you’ll spend a lot lees time waiting in line. Take some time to walk the city, especially the port area up to Catalunya Plaza.

Good outdoor pool for the kids to play in. Breakfast very good, lots of choices.

Wonderful Customer Service!!

We came in late from Madrid and hotel staff were wonderful. They met you at the Airport with a shuttle and had several shuttles that took you to Port. The rooms were upscale, clean, and the beds extremely comfortable. The breakfast provided was more than I had expected for a continental breakfast.

Shuttle service poor

The stay at the hotel was OK, but the service promised with the shuttle service was poor. We were not picked up at the dock after waiting for luggage 3 phone calls were made after initial reservation, we had to use a taxi- 30 Euros. We could not take a shuttle at 4:00AM to the airport- taxi for 25 Euros.

Renaissance Hotel Barcelona Airport was fine

Hotel decor was very contemporary, not to my taste, but the basics of the hotel were fine. Good choice for an early morning flight as was our case.

Not impressed

This hotel need to renew the yard, the swimming pool is so far from the hotel, the location is not atractive and comfortable place. In service we lost a serograghic in the bus from the hotel to the airport and never recieve information about that.

Good for Airport Stays

The hotel was fine overall, although a bit expensive for a hotel far away from the city and near the airport. I would recommend this hotel only for people catching early morning flights out of Barcelona. Some of the staff were great, but others were quite snooty and not very helpful when I pointed out a number of issues with the room I was given.

Impressed

Good service to and from Airport/Train Station. Too bad there are no restaurants in the area, other than at the hotel.

Convenient to Airport/ Free Shuttle to La Rambla (city center)

We decided to stay one extra night in Barcelona after our Mediterranean cruise before hdading home back to Atlanta. We chose this hotel based on it’s proximity to the airport as well as the convenience of the free shuttle service to La Rambla. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The conciere was very helpful. We wanted to do some sightseeing for the day. We planned to visit Guell Park, the Sagrada Familia and the Picasso Museum. The conciere was able to map out a route for us, complete with bus and metro (train) transfer information. We were able to catch a late shuttle back to the hotel. The next morning we went to the restaurant downstairs for breaksfast before heading to the airport. They have a wonderful array of items on the buffet. Unfortunately, we were not wanting a big breakfast. They were able to accomodate us with our request for simply coffee, yogurt and muffin. We also took advantage of the free shuttle service to the airport. I would reccommend this hotel.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

We booked this hotel through Expedia prior to leaving the states. You can save money by paying in US Dollars rather than Euros once you are there.

Won’t Return

We had to move two times. The first because of water dripping down into our bathroom from the room above us; the second time because the shower door in the second room was broken. In addition, we had called guest-services in the first room once before because the TV wasn’t coming on. Turned out it wasn’t plugged in at the back of the TV. The third room was the charm. Our meal at their casual restaurant was fine. The walls were a bit thin, but by bedtime, we weren’t bothered. The king-size bed was superior in comfort. Maybe we were just very unlucky.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

It was only five minutes from the Barcelona Airport by hotel shuttle. That is the primary reason we booked this hotel.

Nice hotel but far

This was a nice hotel- very clean, modern, huge rooms by European standards. The only problem is the distance from everything. It is very far. There is a shuttle to city center but only 4 times per day and if you want to go downtown you will need to take some form of transportation back- which will probably be at least 1 metro, 1 train and a shuttle from the airport. Otherwise it is a great place to stay although I will probably not stay here again for the above reasons.

Staff was friendly.Hotel is spotless.Free computer use.Clean shuttles to airport and downtown.Nice breakfast buffet.We checked in at 7:30am and they gave us a room without blinking an eye!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

We actually used this room for a long flight delay. Took a nap,showered, watched TV on the wide screen and returned to the craziness of the airport fresh as a daisy.

Very convenient for airport with free shuttle

No mini bar or tea/coffee making facilities which the hotel advertised as having. Lovely big comfotable bed. Breakfast a bit disappointing.

Good option for an airport hotel

Works well for visitors needing to transit quickly/efficiently to the BCN airport for early morning flights. Otherwise would not recommend it for people who want to explore the city, as the commute is long and the metro does not yet extend from the airport to the city center.

Good Location For Airport

Hotel was nice but a little expensive. The location is good if you are going to the airport, but there is not much to do around the hotel. They do offer a shuttle twice a day into the city center. Do watch out for the hot water in the shower. It becomes hot very quick and will burn you if your not careful.

Just Okay

Nice hotel/rooms for the money. However, the location was not so great for tourism, though ideal for early morning flights with their free shuttle service. They advertised high speed internet and then charged an hourly fee for internet usage. The front desk/bar were not able to make change for a 20 euro bill.

Good utilitarian place to stay waiting for flight at El Prat airport

Room: Decent, A/C not up to snuff, don’t open windows for fresh air or the mosquitos will bite you at night. Minibar is free but this is not indicated. Minibar is not always restocked. The tap water is not good, will need to use bottled. The bathroom facilities are good. Restaurants: Skip the Sky Lounge, it is not much use. Use the bar on the lower level for good meals. The regular restaurant has a limited menu. Almost half of the menu is geared for 2 or more people. The breakfast buffet is OK. No gift shop.

Find somewhere else

Front desk service was awful (slow and otherwise non-responsive). Our room, and apparently the room above, had hard surface flooring (wood laminate in ours). We got to hear the people above walk around their room at midnight, then at 5am, in their hard-soled shoes. Airport shuttle was good.

Loved the location- close to Airport

Very nice hotel, convenient to Barcelona’s airport and rail line. The hotel has transport service to and from the airport and rail lines, convenient to hop on the metro or rail line and take into the heart of Barcelona. Very nice stay.

Excellent airport hotel

Very clean and nice hotel. Would definitely stay there again. A little difficult to find at first since I arrived in rental car.
