Worth more than it cost
What a great place to stay - just like home. If you want to cook do it or go out there are many restaurants just around the corner. This place is well located and you can walk (which we did) to anything as well as take the metro or cabs. A tip plan your trip to airport in advance either on website or through the hotel. When we go to Roma again we will stay here.

Convienent but BE AWARE
This is not a true hotel and does not have 24hr staffing much less emergency service. On a 97 degree day we came back our first night to find we had no air condtion. None of the numbers we provided with answered and we had to wait unitl 10 am the next Sunday morning, and only after calling Expedia, to get any response. It made for a misreable first night especially as my daughter became ill at 4.a.m and room temperature was easily in the 90s. While the rooms are functional and good for a family stay if there is a problem you just have to wait it out and keep you fingers crossed. Fresh towels and addtional toilet paper are avaiable only at the office, and there is no regular cleaning service. It can be a good value but there are potential problems.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Close to the Vatican. The market at the end of the block is functional, but not friendly. The coffe bar around the corner is good as is the pizzeria/bakery on Borgo Pio.

Borgo Pio 2000 in April 2009
Excellent Hotel (Appartamento) on a quiet side street, but very close to Vatican City. We loved having a kitchenette in the room. The best thing about staying at the hotel was the staff. They were friendly and always helpful. Staying at the Borgo Pio 2000 was like living in Rome.
