Good Hotel, Convenient Location, Great Package Price
This hotel is located about 2 miles from downtown Tunis, restaurants, nightlife, and old ville bazaars. In the heat of July however, it might seem like 4 miles, however a taxi is only 5-6 TD. Since it is on the outskirts of town, it is not a place to walk in the evening. The hotel is gated and guarded, has an outdoor patio with huge umbrellas for shade, and serves a tasty varied breakfast included in the price. It is light, bright, airy, attractively decorated, full of marble, next door to a soccer field as Du Parc is a local soccer sponsor. Cleanliness of rooms were maintained and tidied daily, comfortable lobby and hotel bar. Front desk staff both friendly and helpful, and room service efficient. My one drawback is the absence of lifts. We were on the third floor and we had to walk up several times daily. Still, I was impressed with both the hotel and services.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Always ask taxis their charge "before" getting into the cab. There are more than just a few unscrupulous, intimidating taxi drivers. Getting to Du Parc Hotel should cost 5-6TD from the airport, however if you are not aware they insist that the meter fare is per person, doubling the fare and tripling it, claiming it is a baggage cost. Just go inside and get the front desk staff before paying if this occurs.

Very Impressed
The hotel is nicely located in a quiet area and about 2 Km away from the City Center and the old Madinah. Easy and inexpensive transportation to Train, Metro and Bus terminals. The hotel provides excellent breakfast (except for the juices). Hotel Personnel spoke Arabic, English and French and very cheerful and helpful.

Great Staff, Great Service
My last stay in Tunis 7 weeks earlier was in a 5 star hotel, so I was concerned that I would be disappointed with this hotel, but nothing could be further than the truth! The staff were excellent, pleasant, helpful and efficient. I arrived 1 hour before check-in, and was told that my single room was not ready (which was what I expected to hear), so they offered me a suite with no extra charge! What a great start. The restaurant food and service were both excellent, and the portions were generous and fairly priced. Room service was also very fast, having received my order 15 minutes after calling. I also called for an extra bath towel shortly after my arrival, and it was at my door within 10 minutes. There was always at least one English speaking staff member at the reception desk. This hotel seemed to be a favorite for fellow Tunisians and soccer players (soccer field next door), and I was most definitely the only American there, yet I felt completely safe and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place.
