A very pleasant surprise
The hotel staff was top-notch. The town of Montaione is very picturesque and conveniently located. The rooms are smaller than Americans may expect but they are comfortable and immaculately maintained, besides with all the region has to offer you won’t be spending much time in your room. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant at the hotel as well as the several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel were great.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
San Gimingnano is only a 15-20 minute drive, don’t miss it. Sienna is a little further but well worth the drive. If you go to Florence take the train from Castelfiorentino. The station in Florence (Santa Maria Novella) is an easy walk to all the attractions in Florence. We even took a day trip to Elba, it was along day but everyone had a good time.

The best Hotel in the heart of Tuscany
This hotel and it’s staff made our stay perfect.The room was alway’s clean and staff alway’s were friendly and helpful .110% I’d stay here anytime .You are close to some of the oldest hilltop towns and in fact the Hotel is part of a very old hill top town .The people in the village were frendly and welcomming .The food and wine is sooooo good .
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Drving the back roads of Tuscany is no problem .But take care on the freeways ,don’t speed .Take the trains when going to Florence as it is a nightmare to drive there.
