Blue Moon Hotel
New York Lower Manhattan-area hotel with Wi-Fi

The Dichotomy of past and present - historic and chic -poverty and opulence are vivaciously alive on Orchard Street. The Blue Moon Hotel was inspired by immigrant life at the turn of the century. This beautifully restored tenement - building with authentic original historic details is located on a cobblestone street once occupied by push cart vendors - pickle packers - butchers and bakers. Now New York Citys historic past has come to life in the authentic yet modern and comfortable neighborhood hotel. The Blue Moon Hotel is the perfect venue for any type of travel to New York. Our cozy hotel has been recently restored to provide a luxurious yet throw back atmosphere of what old New York once was in the heydays of Benny Goodman, Groucho Marx, and Frank Sinatra. The facade woodwork and historical memorabilia along with our famous guest rooms and suites will bring you back to times always cherished and never to be forgotten.

A New Look at NYC
This is the perfect place for a different way of seeing NYC! Having gone the midtown/Times Square route several times, we wanted to see NYC from a different angle and this locale definately fit the bill! We were mere blocks away from Soho, and anyone who loves shopping will never want to go anywhere else. From a historical perspective, no one should miss the Lower East Side Tenement Museum right next door. It is truly a memorable experience and unlike any museum Ive ever attended before! For those who would like to taste a bialy while one still can, the only bakery in New York (possibly in America) is a few blocks away, along with the oldest synagague in New York, where Sarah Jessica Parker married Matthew, by the way. The subway, two blocks down Delancey Street, whisked us to Times Square in minutes. Chinatown and Little Italy are just around the corner. The hotel is a cozy little place, immaculate and charming, and the staff made us feel very welcome. They are also extremely helpful and know the area well. I felt very safe, even shopping alone around the corner at an all night store after dark. I would come here again without hesitation! If you are an avid reader or movie buff and the names of Delancey, Broome,Hester, or Mott Streets evoke images, this is the place to go.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
The continental breakfast is very nice and, although we were intimidated at the thought, the subway really was a breeze and a BIG BARGAIN!

Charmer on the Lower East Side
This is a small quaint hotel in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. It is a former tenement that has been restored and converted into a very charming hotel. Our room was on the fifth floor where we had a wonderful view looking out over the neighborhood and the nearby bridge - all very dramatic. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the rooms are large by New York standards and our room had complimentary wireless internet access. Free coffee and bagels in the morning in the lobby- We will be back!
Traveler's tip on dining
Walk west from this hotel into Little Italy and SOHO and you will find many great places to eat. Explore!
