Very Nice! Will stay there again.

Love the room and it was so close to all the shops & the parkway! Food was hard to find parking for so we ate mostly fast food.

Misrepresented facts

Room had a "musty" smell and in need of a few minor repairs. My main compliant is this. I paid extra for a balcony room which overlooked a mountain stream. Even though the motel brochure and web pictures show balconies with chairs, mine was so small you could only stand on it; there wasn’t even room for a chair.

Just a short walk from the Gatlinburg strip

My fiancee and I went to Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge area for the weekend. The famous Gatlinburg strip is just a few minutes walk away and if you want to catch a great morning breakfast, The Pancake House is on your way. The balconies were small but still provided a nice riverview.

The Wrong Side of the Tracks

We stayed in one of the rooms across from the main lodge. It was musty, dirty, and not worth the price we paid even with the on-line discount.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

It’s not worth the "low" price.

It was horrible

I didnt like this hotel. It was ugly the lamps didnt even work and the carpet was dirty. Was not able to take shower with shower head. Had to use the tub. Dint had iron or iron board. Gave me a smoking room when i requested to have a non smoking. The price was ridiculous. We only spend one night went to a much better hote which was cheaper and better quality. The outside pool was old and didnt look nice. This the the simple room with two queen beds. The lobby doesnt look how appears online. We wont spend the night there ever.

Hotel was older but had great character! The room was very clean and comfortable! One small problem was the parking, but we went on a very busy weekend!!

We loved the river view.

We loved the river view the hotel had. It was a very nice hotel. It had a indoor and outdoor pool which we loved also. My family and I would stay in the hotel again.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

We loved being so close to town so we could just walk to all the stores and attractions. And also all the dining.

not impressed

The room was horribly musty smelling. The A/C unit was supposed to have a de-humidifier setting on it but it didn’t or it didn’t work. The ceiling in the bathroom was crumbling. The main hotel area and swimming area also looked as if they had not had any repairs in a while. Nothing seemed very clean.

More than I had expected.

The staff at the hotel were extremely courteous, as well as, very professional. The suite which we stayed was very well maintained and was so much larger than I had thought it to be. They offered many 24 hour services (cab, food, & etc...). I loved the indoor porch atop the indoor pool. Very convenient location to the strip in Gatlinburg. Less than a mile from attractions, such as, The Hollywood Wax Museum and The Hollywood Car Museum. Near very fine resturants, such as, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and Blaines. Next time I attend Gatlinburg, I will bring my whole family to stay here.

Not impressed

The rooms we were in were across the road from all of the amenities of the hotel. They were somewhat small and cramped, and were so so on the cleaniness department. As stated, not impressed.

Will Return

We’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times. We return because the rate is low, it’s comfortable, and most of all, it’s close to the entrance of the park, which is important to us because we don’t care a thing about Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. We go to HIKE. They gave us a creek-side room at no extra charge, which was very nice. The only frustrating thing was that we had to take our laptop to the pool or lobby area to get the free wi-fi. Other than that -- it was great. And that was such a minor part of our trip that it wouldn’t keep me from going there again.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

If you want to HIKE and not spend all your time shopping, this is the hotel for you. AND, if you don’t want to drive through Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg to get there, take I-40 down on the east side of the park and come into Gatlinburg that way. It’s easy to get to this hotel without being in traffic forever.

Would probably stay here again

The room was clean at least. Nothing fancy here, but when I travel, the hotel is just a place where I can sleep and shower and this place served well. Pros: Price was hard to beat, room was clean, short walk/trolley ride from downtown Gatlinburg, nice in-hotel cafe/room service Cons: Spotted some peeling wallpaper, AC in room would either freeze you or let you bake

Pretty Nice

The Lodge is pretty nice. We read all the reviews before we left. We (my girl friend and I)have never been there before. There were some bad reviews and we wasen’t sure what to expect. The people were very nice and fast service. We got the king suite with the Jacuzzi. It was nice and big with some mirror’s around it. The bathroom was a nice size and we had plenty of room. The shower was kinda small but most places have smaller showers. It was clean and never had any problems. We were on the first floor and never had a balconie, so if you want one you better not get the first level.Over all it was nice, clean and would love to go back again.

It is off the main drag of Gatlinburg, but about a half mile on top of a hill. So there will be alot of walking to go back and forth.

Not worth it...

Rooms are stinky and floors are dirty. Hot water goes in and out. The TV is about as big as a bread machine and the whole place was filthy. The beds are hard and pillows thin. It seriously needs a $2 million dollar renovation. We did have a creekside room but 3 floors up. We were put next to a vending and ice machine so all you heard was people filling there coolers all night and then of course there was no ice to fill a cup. It was loud and noisy at all hours of the night(people running like a cow herds outside and yelling) and they wouldn’t even put a stop to it. We are talking 4 in the morning people! It’s a FAR walk up a big hill from the main strip. Not worth the price AT ALL!!

Traveler's tip

Do not buy an all day pass for the trolley cause you’ll never catch one. We waited for an hour between three stops and no trolley ever came. A nice taxi man gave us a free ride up the hill but we had to walk it twice. On another note, we love Gatlinburg. The tram to Ober Gatlinburg was great!

DON’T STAY HERE!!!

The room stunk of cleaner when we first walked in and did not go away the whole weekend. The air conditioner did not work very good at all and the room was humid and sticky. The furniture was from the 1960’s or 70’s and the TV remote was taped together. I will not ever stay at this hotel again or recommend it to anyone else.

a lot of broken things

hotel was nice. but it seemed like everything was stuck in the 70s i.e.: walpaper, furniture, fixtures. i mean astectically it was subpar. however the room was comfortable and was pleased with the cleanliness. my major gripe about the place was that a lot of things such as knobs and trim pieces were broken. nothing to hamber any function but it was kinda annoying that the jacuzzi’s jet knob needed to be pressed in hard and turned well past zero. also when we first came in all the furniture was up on the bed. which is ok considering they were most likely vacumming before but i did drop a foot stool on my foot when moving it. my foot hurt a lot and we were in TN so we could hike the smokies. so that made it a bit tough but you can blame that on my own stupidity. over all i’d say find somewhere else to go. i dont believe it was worth the money.

Traveler's tip on shopping

close to the main drag of gatlinburg which has some interesting shops and bars

Could use some updating

We loved the creek side room, but the beds and linens (especially pillows) could use some updating. The room was musty - and I’m sure it was because we were right over the raging creek. But the beds were not comfortable and the pillows smelled - the linens all around need refreshing. The location was great within walking distance of downtown.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

It was great to be able to walk (if you don’t mind a up hill trek back home) to town and all the attractions

Lackluster, compared to cheaper options

First of all, they don’t keep electronic records - everything’s on paper. There were problems checking in, because someone else with the same last name checked in before me, and they mixed up our files. Instead of a non-smoking room, like I requested, I was placed in a room that had cigarette burns in the sheets. The location isn’t terrible if you want to see downtown Gatlinburg. It’s in easy walking distance of most things, and it’s located right outside a trolley stop. However, there were nicer-looking motels (the exterior, at least) on the same street that had more amenities, for cheaper rates. If you really want to stay in Gatlinburg, I’d recommend shopping around for other hotels. My recommendation would be to get a hotel in Pigeon Forge. It’s only a 10-20 minute drive or so to Gatlinburg, and there’s parking lots and garages with reasonable rates.

Nice, clean hotel.

The hotel was fine. The only draw back is the location. It’s quite a hike up the hill and the Trolley is often very crowded, especially on holiday weekends.

Reasonable Rates

This is an older hotel. The rates were very reasonable and the hotel was nice. They had a indoor pool which was the most important thing to my son.

The hotel is within walking distance of downtown. We parked at the hotel and walked downtown. We rode the tolley back to the hotel at the end of the day.
