Very nice hotel and customer service.
This hotel is in a really good location in downtown Montreal. Its not too far from the metro and there are plenty of shopping areas around. It is also a good location for nightlife entertainment. The hotel has a modern look and is very clean. The customer service was excellent, they were really friendly and helpful. It was also inexpensive for how nice the hotel was. I would definitely stay there again when I go back to Montreal.

Reasonably priced downtown Montreal hotel
This was our fourth trip to Montreal, and the third time we stayed in the downtown area. Compared to the other hotels we visited, the Novotel was inexpensive, and since we had stayed at the Novotel in Zurich some years ago, we were happy to book a room in the Montreal branch. We were given a clean, spacious room with harsh lighting, tired 1950s-style furnishings, and a mini-bar so constructed that we were not permitted to put anything of our own in it over night. The bath was clean and spacious but a bit industrial feeling. The staff was friendly, and the dinner we had in the hotels dining room was excellent (do try their French onion soup)- so overall, our review is mixed.
Traveler's tip on dining
When in Montreal you will definitely want to try a few of the restaurants in "Old Montreal." Dont for get that the more "Scottish" atmosphere in the area of Montreal in which Novotel is sited also produces interesting options.

Beautiful and comfortable hotel
Novotel hotel in Montreal, Canada is an excellent hotel. Its location is great because everything is there when you walk out of the doors. If you love hockey, like I do, the Bell Center is right down the road, you could see if from the room. The bed was so comfortable and it is beautiful inside. Id recommend this hotel to a friend and would love to go back.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Catherine Street, the place to shop and dine, is right there when you walk out the doors of this hotel. The Bell Center is a few blocks down, but you could see it from the hotel. This is a great place to stay if you want to shop or dine, or even attend a hockey game.

Great Deal in Montreal
I love the Novotel Centre in Montreal. This is a great hotel, clean, spacious, extremely friendly, centrally located, easy to get to, and very affordable. Really enjoyed their buffet brunch as well. Yummy crepes!

Had a nice stay!
I stayed at this hotel because of its close proximity to Centre Bell. It was very convenient; just a quick walk. Hotel staff was friendly and hotel was kept very clean. It was in an area w/ lots of shopping. Paris Crepes was close by and I ate breakfast there 2 times. There was a metro close by too so it was easy to get around to the tourist attractions: Olympic Stadium, Biodome, etc. The parking garage for the hotel is on the small side and the first night (Friday) it was completely full so people were trying to make their own spots. It wasnt easy to get around in there either. The hotel had a restaurant with outdoor seating to people watch but I didnt try it. Check-out wasnt until noon so thats later than most hotels. The price was affordable though not cheap. The minibar was weird in that it had a motion detector so if you touched something in there they would know without having to check it all the time. Seems like theres room for lots of error but apparently they have a contract with this company and cant get the system removed. There was a warning on the fridge but easy to overlook and you cant store your own stuff in there. Overall it was a fine hotel and I would stay there again but Id probably also look to try something else too.

No complaints!
I recently stayed at Novotel Montreal with my sister for a long weekend (3 night) break from Boston. We got a great deal and werent expecting too much, but Novotel took good care of us with no problems. If youre looking for a hotel in close proximity to the Metro and all of the stores, restaurants, and nightlife of downtown, this one works perfectly. I am more of a sightseeing kind of girl, but even for me it was still nice to walk around at night for ice cream, a beer, or some shopping without having to go too far. The hotel itself is clean and the reception area is staffed with very nice people and a computer for browsing. The room was clean and I liked the unique door/floors of the bathroom...which was also very clean. Based on other reviews, we knew not to even open the minibar, and we had no problems with it. They kindly allowed us to store our luggage on our last day before our bus left, and that was a pretty good ending to a perfectly nice stay. I would definitely go back if I wanted to stay in the downtown area.

Great location!
The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The location is great for touring around the city. My wife and I brought our bikes and never used the car for the four days we were in Montreal. They have great dedicated bike trails!

Very nice hotel
We stayed here recently during the Montreal Jazz Festival. The hotel was very clean, very quiet, and quite comfortable. In spite of the business of the season, the staff were very friendly and helpful at all times of the day. The parking fee allows for unlimited in and out privledges.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The hotel is about 1 mile from the Jazz Festival site and about 1.2 miles from Old Town. There are many restaurants in the immediate area. There are 2 subway stops about 5 blocks in two different directions.

Loved it
This place was great for my business trip. Downtown, within walking distance of shopping, restaurants and bars. The hotel also had a nice restaurant, the room was a nice suite... Very good, and not expensive.

French flair
French design flair makes this hotel a fun escape from the standard North American hotel. Even though the buffet breakfast is not included in the room price and initially seems expensive it is worth the price. Our only problem was with the shortage of parking spaces in the garage. The hotel staff was fully aware of this problem and tried to accommodate the extra cars by having them park on the bottom up ramp.

Good Value in the Perfect Location
I would definitely recommend the novotel to someone going to Montreal. You are in the heart of downtown and an easy walk to great shopping (Eaton Centre) tons of great restaurants, clubs etc. The staff was great and the workout room was better than I expected. I only wish there were a pool but it didnt turn out to be a big deal.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Go down the street to the Hotel de la Montagne and have a drink at the rooftop bar. Cool bartendars and a spectacular view of the city

great great great
hotel besides being excellent the location you couldnt ask for anything better. 2 blocks from subway which we used numerous times. shopping at the end of the street what more could you ask for. restaurants just around the corner. everything is at your finger tips. Hopeful staff whenever you have a question and they do speak English.
When you travel on subway they are not helpful and dont like to speak English buy the package of tickets for multi use of the trains will save you money but that was really only complaint about trip Old town ok if you really want to go to an old town Quebec City is the best, for food, rooms and people. Great long weekend away would do it again

Comfortable and well located: downtown Montreal.
Very nice people at the reception. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is OK. The parking is very convenient. However it is not operated by the hotel; many cars were not parked in regular lots (apparently they overbook). Room service is only until 10 pm. I strongly advise that you eat outside or come back early if you care for something else than peanuts or a chocolate bar from the fridge!
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Very convenient localisation (five minute walking) from: - Centre Molson, home of the Canadiens de Montréal - the NHL team; - Musée des Beaux Arts; - a metro station.

Noisy. Dumpster emptying woke us up at 4:00, 4:30, 5:00. Bathtub wouldnt drain showers had to stand in water. No refrigerator or computer in room. Otherwise room was good and the staff was very nice and the restaurant was elegant. The parking was very convenient and the halls and elevators were nice.

Good Location
Went for a bachelor party and there were about 15 of us in the hotel. The rooms were nice, mine was remodeled, some of the others werent, but they were all in good shape. The seating on the sidewalk was nice, and the location was perfect next to all the shopping, bars, & restaurants. Only a $2 subway ride to Old Montreal. I would probably stay there again next time I go.

Ok stay, but fantastic location!
Had no clock in the room (other rooms had digital clock) and the bathtub was a big dirty. Other than that, fantastic hotel service/staff and great location! Everything was in walking distance and lots of good eating and shopping conveniently close by!

Novotel Montreal
The hotel is in the business district of Montreal. The hotel rooms are very modern but the beds are slightly above average in terms of comfort. There is a restaurant downstairs which is pretty nice kind of pricy but all nice restaurants in the area are. Overall a great deal for what you are spending.
Traveler's tip on shopping
It is in close proximity to good shopping on saint catherine which is one street which is a block or two south of sherbrooke.
