Great location, room mediocre
Best Western Villa des Artistes in Paris is in a great location. Many good restaurants - moderate to expensive - are within a couple blocks. Metro, RER to Charles De Gaulle airport, and Gare Montparnasse (to Versailles and Chartres) are also very close. Our room was small, and somewhat worn. Due to the size of the bathroom, I was unable to take a shower, and the tub was too short to stretch out. Also, there was a tendency for things - a/c, internet, TV channels - to stop working for a day or so. The staff was nice and very accommodating - to the extent possible. Given the price, I would have expected more. We certainly enjoyed the benefits of the location, but there are many other small hotels nearby and I suspect you could find a better quality room at no higher cost.
Daytrip to Chartres - what an unbelievably beautiful cathedral, plus a quaint medieval town with lots of interesting shopping.

Nice Choice for a Paris Hotel
I was very happy with the hotel, especially given all the negative feedback for hotels in this price range. It was clean and the service was kind and helpful. The receptionist spoke excellent English with no demand for my horrible French. It was just one block from the Metro, which made it very convenient. I arrived very tired with my wife and 5 month old baby at 10am and requested early check in when check in is usually at 2pm. They made my room a priority and had us resting in 30 minutes. I highly recommend this hotel for your next trip

A great experience
Our hotel was great. The concierge was polite, informative and spoke English. We have stayed there before and want to return in the future.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Centrally locate near a Metro Stop, I would say the best tip would be learn to use the Metro as it leads to many destinations very easily and cheaply. In addition, the tour by Paris Vision to Monets House and Van Gohs grave is amazing and very worth the money.
