Interesting location
A decent hotel for the price. Easy access to Albany-Troy-Schenectady but not actually in any of those cities and without the downtown traffic. Acess to Routes 7, 9 and Thruway/Northway. Easy in - easy out, good acess to Albany Airport but not in the more expensive Wolf road area.

La Quinta Inn & Suites Latham
Basicaly, the hotel was OK... I noticed several problems in terms of settling of the building where doors no longer closed properly. Of course, one of those doors was to my room. The 3rd floor ice machine was inoperative during my entire 8 day stay and I was informed that it had been out of order for quite some time before that. The appearance of the building was very attractive and maintained fairly well.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Very easy access to I87 (Northway) for those heading north to Saratoga, Lake George, and points north. For those traveling west or east Route 7 is just one block south of the hotel. Plenty of shopping and historical sites are easily accessed from the hotel. Several area golf courses are within 7 miles of the hotel. I do recommend tee times be booked three days in advance during the spring thru fall months.
