Great location! Great stay!

The location was a great value with a pretty good breakfast thrown in. The staff was very helpful, and friendly, particularly the concierge.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Take a tour with Oglethorpe (lowest price of all tour companies) to see city first and then decide what sites you’d like to go back to spend more time.

Check address for GPS

Hotel was nice, nohing spectacular Pool was closed for maintenance/problems for length of stay (3 days) BIG PROBLEM: when programming GPS with hotel address, make sure you spell out Martin Luther King Jr Blvd - if you put in 201 MLK Jr Blvd, you may be directed to another place in Savannah with the same address and it’s not an area you want to find yourself in. Front desk said it’s a common problem with GPS; however, hotel continues to write its address with abbreviations thus setting up guests to get lost in a bad part of town. After we got over being lost, stay in Savannah was nice; would stay at a hotel closer to River St. like the Hyatt if we went again.

Traveler's tip

Make sure you spell out 201 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd in GPS; 201 MLK Jr Blvd might get you lost in bad part of town

Clean and Comfortable

I am very much impressed with cleanliness and comfort of this hotel. It made me feel that I should have changed my schedule to stay longer, although I just stopped by Savannah on the way to Florida.

Not downtown

Hotel was fine but advertised as "downtown" but not within walking distance of most attractions.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

There are two Hamptons inns in Savannah. The other is on Bay Street which is where we thought our reservation was.

Would go back in a second!

All of the staff were friendly and professional. The rooms were very nice. Dont let the stained and dirty hallway carpets throw you! The rooms are perfect.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Make sure to check out the beaches on Typee Island! And definately do one of the bus tours.

Excellent

It was a great hotel, but the best part is the location. It was completely within walking distance to the historic district’s almost "downtown," if you will, with all of the best shops and restaurants. I absolutely can’t wait to go back!

Traveler's tip on dining

You MUST go eat at Lady and Son’s (aka Paula Deen and sons), but for reservations for the day you have to get in line. The host opens at 9:30am, we lined up about 8:30 and had a blast.

Excellent

Very reasonable, clean hotel. Recently refurbished. Very nice service and in great location - walking distance to all. Parking very easy (and free). Also walking distance to the trolley bus tour which is a must.

Traveler's tip on dining

Hotel has a good list of recommended restaurants - really liked Vics by the river.

New & impressive

located on the west end of Historic District, within walking distance to most attractions; short walk to River Street shops; less than 2 years old facility;

Traveler's tip on local attractions

less than one block from the departing point of all trolley tour buses; take advantage of this if new to Savannah

Fine accommodations

From the time of check-in to the time of check-out, the staff was the best. From the manager, assistant manager, front desk staff, and the breakfast hostess, one could not have wanted friendlier or more courteous service. I would highly recommend this Hampton Inn and Suites.

Very impressed

Loved the hotel. A bit of a walk from River Street, but not too bad. We usually stay somewhere on River Street, but I would go back here in a heartbeat.

Excellent choice for staying in Savannah

This hotel’s rooms look and feel far above it’s star rating. High ceilings, comfy beds, auditorium-sized bathrooms; everything is spotless clean. And the concierge service is top notch and are ready to help with any sort of recommendation for Savannah tourists. Definitely earned my business as a return customer.

Criminal Valet Parking

What I thought would be a nice hotel and experience turned into a nightmare. I had my CD collection stolen by a valet parking attendant of the hotel. A treasured possession stolen by an employee of the hotel.

Loved it!

My husband and I were very pleased with hotel as far as room size, location, cleanliness, service and price. This was a great place with a great staff. The only draw back that I could see was that there was no tub in our room. If you were traveling with young children this might be a drawback, although may be other rooms have tubs. For adults and older children it would be fine. Hotel is literally a few minutes walk from City Market, much closer than it appeared on the map. Savannah Visitor center is literally right down MLK Jr. A tip for visitors to save - if you plan on taking one of the trolley tours, ask them when you purchase your tickets about purchasing tour tickets for any of the homes/museums you plan on going to. It is a substantial savings.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

We took the haunted pub crawl tour and it was a lot of fun. The pizza at Vincent Van GoGo in City Market was really good and Carlito’s (a mexican restaurant) a few doors down from the hotel on MLK Jr. was definitely worth it. Belfords at City Market was wonderful for a more expensive dinner out and worth every penny.

True Southern hospitality

from the moment we checked in until we left, the staff was so kind and courteous. There really is something to be said for southern hospitality. We will return to Savannah and to the Hampton Inn.
