Not the worst...but not the best!
This was not one of our favorite hotels. The hotel does have a relaxing air to it; very quiet site; and, the grounds are pretty. However, the bed was not the best. The linens were old and worn. The towels cheap. The window area was full of webs. Our room itself was noisy (upstairs in the main house). The glass shower was very tiny. The soaps were cheap. The staff were not helpful. We were disappointed by their (expensive) breakfast. Save your money. Its better to get something at a bakery in town.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
We found St. Remy to be a good central location for exploring Provence.

Nice place to stay
A nice, clean comfortable hotel, with friendly staff. The hotel is about 0.8-0.9 miles up a gently sloping hill from St Remy (a reasonable walking distance for an active person). We stayed at the Hotel Villa Glanum during late October. The hotel was filled to less than 25% of capacity during our stay. The only downside is that both the bar and restaurant were closed for the off-season
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Dont miss the market days, sample the many restaurants in St Remy...excellent quality. The art galleries are very interesting.

Good Location with Gated Entry
The hotel is ideally located. It is directly across the street from the St. Paul Monastery. It is short walk down to the tourist office and center city. It is a great place to stay if one wants drive to Arles, Neims, Avignon, Pont du Gard and Les Baux. The condition and maintenace of the hotel was very good. My room did not have a window. There was only a single french front door with a drape that covered 3/4 of the door. I did have a window in the bath over the loo. I didnt eat at the hotel so I cant comment on the food. I did plan to have breakfast on my last day but didnt get a welcoming feeling from the staff. I checked out and left. I would return but stay in a different room -- something around the pool. The grounds are lovely even in October. Ann
