Convenient to USC

This hotel is very convenient to USC and the 2-bedroom suite is extremely spacious (with your full kitchen and washer/dryer room.) The 1-bedroom comparatively is small, but still has full kitchen and W/D. Staff is friendly, area is great and on non-ballgame weekends, the price is right.

A nice value for the money

The Whitney as I understand was once small executive apartments. I appreciated having the extra space with living area, nice size kitchen, and separate bedroom. The walls were a bit scuffed up with many marks and definitely in need of a paint job. The appliances in the kitchen though seemed to work fine were laughable obviously straight out of the late 70s or early 80s and seemed out of place with this more upscale hotel. I was very happy with the maid service and friendliness of the staff. I was there for three nights. The last night the USC football team had several players staying at the hotel and one room of them near mine kept me awake until about 3 AM. I called down to the front desk about 1:30 AM and was paid lip service about the noise but apparently nothing was done. It unfortunately made my last night at The Whitney a disappointment. I would however stay there again as long as I got a discounted rate. Seems their prices are a bit inflated given the shape of the room and on occassion, party-like atmosphere presenting disruption of sleep that last night.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

If you stay at The Whitney during USC’s football season, check if your stay will overlap with football players staying at the same time as you may find yourself awake most of the night!

For families and extended stays

The hotel is set up more for families and extended stays than for business travel to downtown Columbia
