The service was outstanding
My 86 year old aunt and I went there when my father passed away, so it was a difficult time for us, and they couldn’t have been nicer or more accomodating. I arrived on the red eye and had called before to see if I could check in right away in the morning, and they said they would have a room ready for me. When I arrived, the lovely woman at the desk was waiting for me and had a lovely room ready to go, with extremely comfortable beds. Everyone who worked there was very kind and helpful.

Nice business hotel
The Rockville Sheraton is situated in an office park but is convenient to the Metro and to highways around Washington, DC giving you access to sightseeing and shopping. Since it is not right against a major highway, it is much quieter than many hotels in the area which was a big plus for us since we were on vacation and wanted to sleep a little later than the business travelers. The room was clean, comfortable, well-furnished and very spacious. The hotel staff were very, very friendly to us. We did not eat in the hotel at all, so I cannot comment on the food or the bar in the lobby. We tried to use the pool, but it was only open in the early morning hours from 6-10 and then again from 4 or 5 PM to 10 PM. We got back late from sightseeing and would have LOVED a relaxing swim in the pool, but it was closed by then. We brought our small chihuahua with us and she was made to feel welcome and the staff all greeted her and petted her. On one of our last days there, we stayed in the room late and when we returned late that night, our room had not been serviced that day. In addition, they use these flimsy, thin shower curtains that blow into the tub as the room heats up and wraps around you while you are trying to shower. Not bad though since that was my worst complaint!
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Check out the new downtown Rockville Center! Lots of nice trendy and ethnic restaurants, many with sidewalk cafe dining. Outdoor amusements every night such as a movie or a comedy act or a band or concert. Lots of cute shops and plenty of street life in the heart of Rockville.
