Nice but noisy at night
The hotel was very nicely appointed and maintained, and the staff was very helpful. Our one issue was that we had trouble sleeping with the windows open - a necessity given the warm days and nights - due to the proximity to a busy street.

Expect an old hotel in a great location
The old part of the hotel is definitely that--with very low ceilings, creaky floors, and not much light in the room. However, the location is great and the people at the hotel were very helpful.

good hotel, better restaurant in Luzern
This was our 4th trip to Luzern and we decided to try a different hotel. The Rebstock is quite nice and very typically Swiss. Only real negative is that it was noisey (a problem with most hotels in Luzern) from the street outside...traffic, people(at all hours) and church bells right next door which begin at 5 am. Best was the Hofstube Restaurant which is part of the hotel...fabulous food and service at a very rasonable price. It’s typical moderately priced Swiss food but of excellent quality. I’d go back there to eat any day.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Two highlights for Luzern...the Glacier Museum near the Weeping Lions and the Transportation Museum...great for adults, fabulous for children.
