My old second hometown.
I lived in Shanghai for two years and I have never and moved back to the United States last year. I have never noticed this jem before. Its tucked in very well in between the Carrefour and a the highway overpass. The only complaints I have is the surcharge for internet and the shower door leaks like a screen door on a submarine. But, that is due to the poor workmanship of the installers. I think I will give thema level next time to fix them. I already have reservations to stay there in April again. All of my old friends live in the area as that is where my house was. Overall, a fantastic hotel!!

DIRTY, PUKEY ENTRANCE TO SEEDY HOTEL!
I got off the taxi to walk into a puddle of puke that someone had not bothered to clean up. As I started wheeling off my luggage from the taxi, a doorman casually pointed out the vomit on the floor. For me, it was finished right there and then. My room was smoky, even though I asked for a smoking room. They "upgraded" me to a non-smoking room. The heat did not work, although it was winter in Shanghai. The towels are a disgusting off-white, and scratchy. Room service food is terrible, although it arrives on time and the waiters are very courteous. The carpets in the hallways were covered in large stains. If you spend more than 15 minutes in the lobby, your clothes smell of cigarette smoke, as if you have been in a nightclub. Dont waste your time asking the hotel or the concierge to call a taxi for you, and the doormen are worse. I was 20 minutes late for my meeting on my first morning there: They walk to the main road to flag down taxis for their customers. Ive never seen anything more ridiculous in my life. Even the crappiest hotels know to call a taxi service or have standing arrangements with some drivers!! This is not a cheap hotel, but it sure behaves like one, and it does not deserve even a single star.
