Nice experience
This is a new hotel, and as expected it was pleasant and functional. The staff was friendly. Had a problem with the Internet connection in my room as did at least one other guest at the time. Front desk did what they could: gave me a new cable and the tech service phone number. The cable made no difference, and I wasn’t up for putting any more effort into the situation.

Plesant hotel in Merced
The hotel staff was welcoming and the room was spacious and sparkling clean. The kids loved the indoor pool. I also enjoyed the exercise room. Internet access was good and the lobby provided computers and a printer. Breakfast is not free, but it is good if you prefer a hearty morning meal. Otherwise, we drove down Main Street to Starbucks for their morning special. This hotel has the annoying habit of tagging your credit card with incidental charges. These "pending" charges disappear off your card in a few days if you don’t actually use the "pending" items. Other hotels sometimes do this as well and you will only notice it if you view your credit card statement on-line. To conclude, Marriot Courtyard in Merced was great. I will look into other Marriots when I travel.

The hotel is really new and very clean. But the location of the hotel is next to the freeway. So pick the room not facing on the freeway side if possible...
