The New Petro Sport Hotel

The Metro Sport Hotel is located on the rim road that circles the outer edge of city. If you are adventurous, you can ride the bus to the Metro Station. Buses 531, 532, 533, 429 all take you to the Ladozhskaya Metro Station. The bus stop is about 150 meters from the hotel. The bus cost 22 rubles. There are also shuttles and vans which are a little more, maybe 30 rubles. So for about a buck you can ride the bus. The Metro now costs 17 rubles, under a dollar. The Metro Sport Hotel has a restaurant, breakfast was included in my stay. The restaurant opens at 7:00 and closes at 11:00pm. There is an open air area to sit and relax and eat or drink or socialize. There is another room off the restaurant for parties. There is also a small intimate area outside the restaurant for dining. There is large indoor area equipped with tennis courts, swimming pool, well equipped weight training, sauna, tanning both, massage. There is an indoor Salon for hair. The cost was very, very reasonable. If you want a quiet place to relax, this is it. The staff was very helpful, both English speaking and Russian speaking. I was able to commuicate with a girl who spoke little English and she helped me much. I appreciate it.

Traveler's tip

Don’t bring US dollars. It is useless. There is an ATM in lobby which dispenses rubles in English. Look around the city for hole in the wall places to eat. It is extremely cheap to eat in some of these places and the food is fantastic. Ask if they have an English menu.
