Outside hotel under construction, not close.
If this hotel were closer to the city center I would give it 5 stars. But its too far and in Paris any money you save by staying away from the main drag you end up giving back on taxis. Outside the hotel is under construction and it was hard for some taxis to find.

Classy hotel in a shabby neighborhood
We knew this hotel wasn’t in a convenient location for tourists (you have to take a bus to get to the Metro), but we were a little surprised at how run down the neighborhood was. We were advised not to go out alone at night. The buses were packed even at 1 am and I rode standing with one hand on the pole and the other on my wallet. Inside the hotel was a different world. The staff was generally helpful, but could not tell us how to make a call from our room to a toll free number and finally suggested we go across the street to call! Bottom line: we got a great rate on a nice room, which made up for the inconvenience of getting around.

Nice hotel - but away from the city
This was a great hotel, the rooms are well designed and comfortable. The lobby is a great place to hang out in the evening. The only issue I had with the hotel is that it is tough to get to by Metro/Subway. No matter where you go - you have to take the SNCF train, and the last train is at midnight. The hotel is a good 10 mins walk from the station. That said, I would still go back and stay in the hotel.
