Just Okay
The Tropicana staff was very accommodating – they are what kept this hotel in my good graces. I was there for a wedding, and they did their best to get all of us as close to each other as possible. The rooms were not the greatest, but they are far better than some of the others I have stayed in on the Laughlin strip. The room was clean – I took a smoking room to be close to the bride and it didnt smell like smoke at all. But there was no mini fridge like I have found in other rooms, they offered no travel-size conditioner (only shampoo), my iron did not work and the ironing board had to be jimmied to stay standing. And I guess Im lucky to be used to the Laughlin weather because there was no heater/air conditioner that I could see, and the window only opened a crack. I would recommend the hotel to others because its a good deal for the price I paid, but if you can afford a little more, you may want to consider going elsewhere.

tropicana
we paid the extra money for the "resort" room. It was nothing short of a budget room. The hotel needs to be renovated and updated. The bathrooms were dingy and the plaster was cracking. The beds were so-so. Room was small and cramped and a/c did not work very well. Would not stay here again. Stayed at the Colorado Belle last time and it was worse so not sure what place would be better.
dont look for any bargains for meals. The casino food was terrible and pretty costly for what you got. Quality poor. The best place was the Mexican restaurant just as you enter town. Food was good and priced within budget.

Wouldnt return to Tropicana
Even tho we were in the very old part of the hotel, you would think they could maintain & update the rooms. Our bathtub faucet dripped the entire time we were there. They must never have heard about fabric softener --- I could hardly bear to use the towels they were so rough. Only 1 set of clean towels were provided for 2 people. Whats with no coffeemaker in the room?! Must be Tropicanas way to make you buy coffee from their snack shop. I know the rates were low, but this was a real disappointment.
