Fantastic location!
The good points: extremely convenient location, friendly and courteous staff, quality complimentary breakfast The weak points: very small room, very small eating space for breakfast, weak shower flow Overall this is an excellent boutique hotel and we would definitely consider staying at this hotel if we go on a pleasure trip again to San Francisco.

Wonderful!
Everyone was very helpful. The breakfast was a great start to the day, and the wine and snacks were a welcome break in the evening. It was like staying with friends, only better! Oh, and on our last day we found out there were homemade cookies around 9:00pm. YUM.
Do the bus tour first. That way you know what is out there to see, then you can plan your days around that. We went without a plan. Bad idea. We wasted time backtracking. Bring good walking shoes!

Center Stage for San Francisco
For those desiring a hotel location within a half-block of Union Square, its boutiques, stores, hotels and restaurants (e.g. Finos, Mortons, Postrio) the Inn at union Square is your kind of hotel. While extremely small by hotel standards it does have its charms--friendly service, finely equipped rooms, and public access computer/internet. But it has no restaurant and the provided continental breakfast, while certainly adequate, was on two different floors with just enough space for 4 people (which meant carrying a tray back to ones room.) Parking is about $35 per day. This hotel is all about location, location, location!
