Nice market below

The hotel is a little far from downtown but there is a seabus to town next door. The market downstairs is great for breakfast or a light lunch.

big car

Getting there was a little confusing, mostly because Vancouver’s highways seem disorganized. If coming from the US I would recommend taking highway 15 to highway 1, bypassing confusing inner city parts. Also, the hotel’s parking garage is not very spacious. My 1985 Buick LeSabre was very difficult to maneuver through there. Parking is not for free. Once you are there, you can take the ferry across to the downtown area. Ferry dock is located right next to the hotel.

The only place to stay.

Great location, on the waterfront. Enjoyed the enclosed market as well as the surrounding restaurants. Rooms were comfortable and clean. This was our second stay and we will continue to come back.

Beware overpriced.

Hotel lobby is beautiful but rooms are just ok. Credit card was charged very high damage deposit which they claim they will refund in 3-4 weeks. The coffee table was rickety and ready to break. The comforter on bed and sheets were dirty and had fluid stains. Toilet seat loose. The blinds on window were broken. Very limited street parking. Hotel does not validate for parking in the parking garage.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Lonsdale Quay Market below hotel is unique. Capilano Suspension bridge was ok. Mostly theme park setting for kids. There is another suspension bridge nearby that is free. Stanley park very nice. Be careful of downtown. Saw lots of homeless, many drug deals in broad daylight.

Great Location

This hotel is located above a quaint market with food vendors, a money exchange, and a few shops. Don’t pay for room service, just pop downstairs and try a few of the different options. Seabus terminal a quick walk from the hotel. One quick ride and you are in the middle of downtown Vancouver. An excellent way to see the city, but not pay too much to stay in it.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

There is lots to do on this shore as well, try the free suspension bridge at Lynn Canyon.

Best Hotel in North Vancover

We had a wonderful stay here, very clean and well kept property. The market is fun with plenty of shopping and plenty of places to eat. The water taxi is an easy walk and that allowed us to part the car and tour downtown Vancover on foot and subway. My only criticism is that our room was next to the roof top AC unit and was noisy.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Great place to park your car and tour the area.

Great location, value, and clean place

I stayed at the hotel overnight and did not use room service. However, the room and bathroom were very clean and presentable. I had a view overlooking the water. Driving into downtown took only 10 minutes. The only trouble I had initially was figuring out where to park. Turns out, it is in the garage right below the hotel for a $10 special hotel fee, and you take the elevator up two floors to the hotel. More prominent hotel and parking signs would be helpful for first-time visitors. This hotel would be my first choice during my next trip, if I get a good rate like last time.

Traveler's tip on dining

Right below the hotel is the market, which has great variety of eating-out joints. Yet the place is not crowded or noisy at all. Surrounding North Vancouver neighborhood also offers quite a variety of restaurants nearby.

Loved this location

Good value for the money when booked through Expedia. Very clean, attractively decorated, comfortable room. No view, but that wasn’t a problem for us. Loved the market and shops downstairs. We ate outside everyday and enjoyed the view of downtown Vancouver which was just a 10 minute ferry ride away. Parking was $10/ day.

clean, comfortable rooms

We’ve stayed here twice and each time the rooms are very clean and the service is very polite. It’s located in a building with the Lonsdale Quay market so there are restaurants and shopping opportunities abound. Located right next to a bus hub and to the Seabus terminal.

Walk Score: 100%

Great food joints right downstairs (crepes, coffee, bakeries, fruit, fish, Saturday Farmer’s Market). The Seabus terminal is also located downstairs to head downtown. Prices seemed much cheaper than staying downtown and it was incredibly convenient.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Stay at the Lonsdale Quay and then take the Seabus into downtown. Seabus costs a couple bucks per 15 minute ride but will save much more compared to staying in downtown Vancouver.

Nice hotel. Would stay there again.

Lonsdale Quay Hotel is located in N. Vancouver right next to the seabus ferry station only a 10 minutes ride from DT Vancouver. Also, Lonsdale Quay Hotel only charges $7 a night for parking. Other hotels I contacted charged up to $30 a night. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. There is a great Thai restaurant one block from the hotel and an excellent Italian restaurant, Al Porto, located in Gastown. I would recommend this hotel to others.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Don’t go to the Capliano Suspension Bridge. It’s a total waste of money.

Great location

The hotel was extremely convenient for visiting major tourist attractions in Vancouver since the seabus to downtown is right outside the hotel, and the market/mall below the hotel made it easy to do some souvenir shopping. The building could use updating, but overall the hotel was clean and a great value. We stay there often when visiting Vancouver.

Great location

There is nothing insanely special about this hotel. Rooms took awhile to heat up. They were undergoing renovation at the time of my stay, the fire alarm went off at 2 AM for no reason, and I was woken by someone slamming against my window another night. However, I would stay here in a heartbeat due to the awesome, awesome location. Great places to eat and shop in very close proximity.

Yet again - awesome places to eat

Nice location

Needs a little touch up, but location is perfect. Above an indoor market where you can get good coffee/breakfast and even lunch and dinner. Close to cinema and to the ferry which will bring you to the city in 10 mins! What else do you want. Perfect to combine with Whistler and Grouse Mountain.

Will Definitely Go Back!

though it’s not in downtown vancouver, it’s very close. parking is $7 per day with in-out privileges. the market and food court on the first floor were very convienent. our 4-year-old son had fun watching the tugboats come in and out everyday. they offered us a free crib (pack & play) to use for our 5-month-old. only problem we had with our room was it didn’t have very many electrical outlets to charge up our cellphones, handhelds and laptop. the only outlet we could use was in the bathroom. they did let us borrow an extension cord so that our electronics weren’t sitting too close to the sink. even though it’s currently under renovation, but it really didn’t bother us at all.

vancouver aquarium was really close by and a great place to take the kids! robson is a fun place for a stroll with good eats!

Will definitely use hotel again.

Great location for staying outside busy Vancouver. Inside mall was a real plus. A few quaint restaurants but you are right at the ferry which was great for getting to/from Vancouver. Parking provided which was a plus.

Good hotel for pre/post cruise

A half of a block away is the ferry ride to downtown or to the cuise ships (Our luggage was a little cumbersome, but not a big problem. And at the same location are buses to the suspension bridges and the tram. The market below the hotel, while not as awe inspiring as the one at Granville Island, still has a good assortment of interesting food. We had an extremely large room with a view of tug boats. It was interesting seeing the other side of the bay at work. We arrived early and we appreciated that the staff made a big effort to accomodate us. The taxi to the airport was a bit pricy because we were in North Vancouver--the hotel arranged it for $50.00.

I’ll be back!

Lonsdale Quay Hotel is in a fabulous position on the water with quick access to seabus and bus transport and local tourist attractions. It also has the convenience and buzz of the markets below plus several restaurants/coffee shops. I highly recommend this hotel.

Our hotel stay was nice. The room was comfortable and the stay was nice. It was nice to step out of the hotel room into a shopping district. I would stay at the Lonsdale Quay Hotel again. Great Place To Stay:’)

Just average.

They could communicate better with their guests. We were not informed that all outside doors into hotel would be locked at eleven pm. We spent 20 minutes trying to get back into the hotel after hours.

location, location, location

Located on the third and fourth floors of a boutique retail mall at the bottom of Lonsdale Street in a very trendy area at the entrance to the Sea Ferry to downtown Vancouver. We were upgraded by chance to the room with the best view of downtown and the harbor. We had a food court of non western food outlets in the mall plus numerous sit down ethnic eateries in the neighborhood Rooms had large flat screen TV, furnished in mod black/chrome decor. Pricey. Negatives were the $7/day add-on for parking in their underground ramp... and hard to find how to enter. With a car, the only way to check in was to go into the below ground garage which had a very modest "hotel" sign, go up to the third floor, get a luggage trolley, go back down and bring your luggage up. Walk-ins had to spot a small sign by one of the mall’s doors, enter, take an elevator up. In other words, you had to know how to get there to get there.
