Shes looking a little worn
Having stayed at a number of Embassy Suites, I have to say that this one is getting a little worn around the edges. The lobby appears to have been recently refurbished, but our room looked a little tired with a sticking folding closet door and a tear in a sofa cushion (maybe smoking rooms arent high on the list for remodeling?). After saying that, though, it was clean, comfortable, and service was great--front desk, housekeeping staff and wait/bartending staff were all friendly and helpful.
Traveler's tip for business travelers
Proximity to Dulles means this is more business travelers hotel than families, but youll probably find someone to talk to at the managers reception in the evenings. I also appreciated getting a free copy of USA Today delivered to the room door each weekday morning.

Not impressed
Ive had very positive experiences with Embassy Suites before, but this one was a turkey. First, the water from the in-room faucets was cloudy. When I told the desk clerk about it, he said it was normal (wrong answer!). So, I went to buy water from the gift shop, but they were out. The desk clerk said hed restock, but never did. Next, I went upstairs to the vending machine, but the actual cost was higher than what was posted on the machine (why?). Later that night, after we ordered room service (which was thankfully good) the empty tray stayed outside in the hall for the next 12 hours (disgusting!). The next morning, the cook-to-order grill was out of cheese, hash browns, and potatoes. And dont even get me started on the lateness of the airport shuttle (we stood in the cold for 45 minutes). No doubt there are better hotel choices in the area.
Traveler's tip on shopping
The hotel is conveniently located for shopping and dining. Which is good, since youll want to spend as little time in the hotel as possible.

wonderful !
Everything was great staying here. The hotel staff, cooked to order breakfast, everything was great. The room was spacious and comfortable. The only thing that could have been better would have been having coffee ready downstairs before 7 a.m. One cup in the room wasnt enough to get us ready for our early morning flight out.
