Quaint
The rooms are basically small bedrooms. There is minimal furniture, AC, no phone, no internet. They are skimpy on towels, unless you ask for them. We had ants crawling around the bathroom fixtures. The safe was really old, served it’s purpose, but... We got vouchers for breakfast at the French pasteria across the street, limited meal choices.

It was within walking distance of Eat at Joe’s which is probably the best place in Tamarindo to eat and at an unbeatable price, with a great view of the ocean.

Close to beach, but uncomfortable beds
The pros: it’s across the street from the beach, you get coupons for free breakfast at a French bakery across the street, the pool is well maintained, the concierge is friendly, and there is free Internet access. The cons: The beds are rock hard, there is crunchy plastic coverings on the beds, you have to ask for more toilet paper because they don’t alway replenish.
Traveler's tip on dining
Make sure to eat at Schlomy’s new restaurant (Seasons). It’s one of the best meals we had. Wear bug repellant as the outdoor pool attracts lots of mosquitos.

My wife and I have stayed here our last 3 trips to Tamarindo. It is a quiet Hotel within walking distance to the main area of town. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
You get a nice breakfast included wiht your rooms at the Bakery accross the street in the Crocodllo Hotel. You are also nearer the estuary and calmer water for swimming. You can walk to the AutoMercado for your groceries, and ther are some nice restaurants around the hotel.
