What to expect: The years have not diminished the grandeur of this historic hotel or its lobby, which has vaulted gold-leaf ceilings, scrolled wrought-iron railings, and crystal chandeliers. Large murals depict scenes from the life of the adventurous English sea captain for whom the hotel is named.
