Choose Marina Park to stay in Lagos
The only regret we have about staying at Marina Park, Lagos is that we were there for one day only. We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment which was very spacious and had a great view of the swimming pool. The facility is on a hill some distance away from the city center and the main street that runs along the beech, but the distance is walkable. Marina Park apartments sit on a very big property that has its own cafeteria (besides the pool). Our apartment had a well-equipped kitchen and there was a washing machine too. Our car was happy too on finding its own garage space. Overall, Marina Park was the best hotel deal we got during our visit to Portugal.
Driving in Spain and Portugal? First, if you have time, avoid taking toll roads--the toll is especially high in Portugal. Second, when visiting big cities choose hotels that provide free parking, or less expensive hotels that are some distance away from the city center. Within cities use Metro or city bus network--it is far more convenient to do this than to drive to a monument and then spend hours to find a parking place. Third, get very good directions about reaching your hotel.
