A decent location and interesting hotel
Close enough to gothic quarter to walk to anything. the hotel itself is quite unique with the lighting and room layouts etc. Enjoyable experience.

Great location, interesting interior
This hotel has a great location in an interesting area that is not too touristy, yet, and is within walking distance of La Rambla etc. The hotel staff was pleasant and helpful. The hotel provides free bottled water and internet access in the lounge area. The beds were very comfortable and the room clean. However, with an all-white decor there are signs of wear on the walls and white vinyl furniture The decor is unusual, playful and minimalist. There really is no place to unpack anything, and there are a very limited number of flat surfaces on which to place anything. The original space the hotel is in must have been a magnificent apartment. In order to accomodate plumbing, a raised floor has been added throughout the entire space and all rooms. As a result there is a hollow, echoing sound when you walk, or others walk past your rooom. Soundproofing is not optimal. All that said, I would return to this hotel for another weekend trip.

Accomodation not as promised
When I made my inquiry II asked for a hotel that had room service and one where smoking was allowed and the booking was made on the confirmation of these services. When I arrived, I was told there was no room service and smoking was not allowed. They did however give me an ashtray and told me I could smoke in my room. Obviously either Chic & Basic Born or Expedia or both are at fault. I think that Expedia has a duty to check the facts of the accomodations of the hotels they list. Also, while the decor is very interesting and high tech, the shower floor is a lawsuit waiting to happen. The surface is so smooth that tractiion is not possible and one is in imminent danger of falling. I will say the staff is very nice and tries hard to be helpful. The availability of a computer with free internet service is a plus.
