Use this hotel if you’re travelling on a shoe string
The owner of the hotel is extremely nice and helpful, always there to ensure that her guests are contented and comfortable. Although a bed and breakfast, no problem having three nice meals. I felt very much at home and would definitely use this hotel again. If you’re travelling on a limited budget, this is the place to stay. Although not a 5 star hotel, it’s clean, the food is good, you get personal attention, and is located in a nice part of the city, not far from most places

Inexpensive layover spot
Coningsby Inn is not a resort or big fancy hotel. We needed a place to spend the night before moving on with our itinerary, and this was a convenient, inexpensive place. It was during off-season, so the hotel services were very limited, as far as meals. There is a decent patio restaurant a short walk away, at "Bird Island" (which we might have renamed "Mosquito Island" due to the presence of said insects that evening).

Very Good Service/Staff
While checking for the weather in Belize for our trip of this month, August, 2009, I was hesitant to go for their weather forecast showed showers and thunderstorms for the whole week. Anyhow we proceeded with our trip and we were glad we did for the weather was perfect. We stayed in Coningsby Inn. A perfect, safe location for it was just a walking distance to where you ride the water taxi to bring you to the islands. This may not be a five-star hotel but the rooms are kept clean with a cable TV and good air-conditioning. We were spoiled with their meals for it was a good homemade cooking; practically we ate breakfast and dinner in the inn. Guests meet at the dining hall and get to talk. It was a very friendly atmosphere. Best of all, the staff were extremely helpful. The owner, Jeanette, really got out of her way to help us with our tours. Any problems you will encounter, she will help resolved. As mentioned, it may not be a five-star hotel but the service is beyond the five-star point.
