Great place

Seemed very good. The staff was very polite and super professional, they went out of their way to be helpful. As I left for breakfast (only next door) they even offered to hold my luggage for me behind the front desk. The business center was also very helpful. I was a little shocked to find that the telephone didn’t work in my room, so I couldn’t call the front desk for a wake-up call, just used the alarm clock. I told them upon checkout and they said that they would replace it. Overall a great place.

Good location for the theater

We stayed at the Omni because it was across the street from the Times-Union Theater, since we were staying in Jacksonville to see a play, which worked out beautifully. However, the evening after checking out I realized that I left my perscription eyeglasses in the hotel room. I called and they told me that housekeeping would call me to let me know if they were found. I didn’t receive a call, so two days later I called again and was told that the room had yet to be cleaned, but my glasses were not there. I don’t know why someone would want eyeglasses that didn’t belong to them or why it would be so difficult to turn them into lost and found. I would stay again only if going to the theater.

Not Impressed

Shower had mold, and it would not drain. Not worth the money!! Dark and dreary!!

Convenient, clean and comfortable

The hotel is right across the street from the Jacksonville Landing and the riverfront. It is also just a few blocks from the Prime Osborne Convention Center, which was where I needed to be. I arrived quite early in the day and was allowed to check in right away. The only issue was that they did not have a non-smoking room for me. They claimed that the room I was getting had just been disinfected, so I wouldn’t know that it was a smoking room. That was true, but walking down the hallway it was evident that this was the smoking section of the hotel. I would stay there again.

Excellent

We were only there one night, but the room and location are excellent. Clean, modern and comfortable. Excellent service at the bar in the lobby as well. Right across the street and a safe walk from The Landing for drinking and dining. Will stay there again.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

On the weekends there is ample parking on the street that’s free. You can avoid paying for self parking in one of the garages or the high priced valet at the hotel...who end up parking your car in one of those same self-park garages.

Good quality hotel

A very well presented hotel with excellent features including complimentary internet. An excellent restaurant on the premises and convenient car rental in lobby.

This hotel is close to The Landing, which is "the" eatery and entertainment center of Jacksonville. Also the theatre is just over the road.

Beautiful Hotel in a great location!

I loved the hotel. The staff was wonderful. The room was beautiful and check in and out was a breeze. I absolutely will stay at this hotel or another Omni. the only thing was that there were lots of fees at the end of the stay. Don’t order room service, go to one of the nearby restaurants.

Great hotel!

Like all other Omni Hotels, I was welcomed by a friendly staff and a clean room. Good location, walking distance to Jacksonville Landing.

Fantastic and great location for theatre lovers!

My husband and I loved this hotel. It is right next to the times union center for the performing arts, and close to many other attractions.

if you want a room with a view I would suggeset calling the hotel. you also get discounts if you are a member of the theatre.

Big Problem!

While the hotel staff was very courteous, they decided to start very loud construction on a nearby floor at about 8:00am the first morning I was there. I STILL have not received the refund they promised for my room nearly a month ago.

Be Careful

A tip from another traveler on this site warned of this hotel placing mysterious charges on the final bill.Well, they did it to me. They said I was in the bar and had a tab of $52.00 which was charged to my Visa card. I was never in the bar.They said they could not read the signature on the bill clearly and thought it was my last name. I’m glad I caught it and had to have them reverse the charge. Please make sure and review your bill and have them print you out a copy of your zeroed out balance for your records.

Great Customer Service!

This is a place I want to stay again. The staff could not have been more accommodating, it’s centrally located downtown and the facilities were excellent.

Only a 4-Star Hotel in the lobby or gym

This hotel has all the trappings of a 4-Star hotel when you arrive at the lobby. The staff is personable, the restaurant has very good food, and the gym has very good equipment. ---- The drawbacks, however, are that the air conditioning is very old and does not work well in most of the rooms, there are no fans in the bathrooms, and all vending machines have been removed except for the one on the 5th floor, which will be perpetually empty. You will be hot, not able to get anything to drink, and then will see bottled water has been placed in your bathroom at $5.00 each. Drinks will be in the refrigerator at $5 - $7 each, and as happened to us - the cleaning staff will help themselves to drinks (see - it is hot) and you will be charged for it. If you catch it, they will still charge you on your bill. If you confront them, they will remove the charges and tell you "this happens often". Our experience is not what one would expect from a 4-star hotel. Waking up drenched in sweat was a nightly occurrence.

The lobby restaurant has excellent cooks, but the wait-staff could be better. I do not recommend the River-Walk Brewery Company for dinner, but Ruth-Chris Steak House was an A+ (men: be aware they need collared shirts to enter).

A few issues

All together a fine hotel. There was some mix up with the room we requested (asked for two double beds got a single King), but that was quickly rectified. Water pressure was too low in the new room to give kids a bath so we were moved one more time and after that everything was great. Excellent breakfast, great location.

Convenient, Pleasant

Good central location. Decent service. Clean, but lobby and mezzanine have damp musty smell. Carpets are old and frayed in places. Business center (two computers and two printers) charges $5.50 per 15 minutes of computer time (!) and over $1.00 per page to print. You have to type in credit card info to log on which is info I’d rather not enter in a public computer, even if it is supposedly erased at log out.

Central to downtown business areas and to The Landing, a somewhat scruffy low-end shopping, club, and restaurant complex. The riverside area is enoyable.

Exceptional hotel with many amenities.

If you like to be in a place where you can walk a lot of good places, i.e. to a nearby concert, or to nearby shopping and to a variety of restaurants you will like the Omni. Also, the Omni restaurant and room service was excellent. I especially like the self parking facility for those guests who drive and/or have a rental car.

I like to be close to the arts and/or concert area. It was great to be able to walk to a concert from the hotel.
