Wonderful Place

Quiet, serene, and beautiful best describes Yepton Estate Cottages. The cottages are a home away from home stocked with a microwave, dishes, utensils, CD player that connects to an IPod, and more they thought about everything. As a student, I especially appreciated the complementary Internet access. But, what I appreciated most was the kindness, sincerity, professionalism, and willingness to help of Gabrielle and Douglass. I have stayed at a variety of hotels on numerous occasions in the Caribbean and elsewhere, and I must say that the service and the willingness to help expressed by Gabrielle and Douglass was exceptional. The housekeeper was also very helpful. My only regret is that I was too busy to fully enjoy the place. I would definitely stay at Yepton again and highly recommend it.

Super Place - Be Aware

My wife and I stayed at Yepton the week of Nov 15-22, 2009. This is a wonderful place to stay and only 5 miles from the capitol of St John. Gabbie and Douglas are simply amazing and fun to be around. We were a little surprised to find out that there was no dining facilites on the premises. You have to walk over the the resort next door, which was pricey. However, Gabbie took us to town for groceries and we had a FABULOUS time. Yepton is quaint and quiet. Most other resorts have problems with their AC or cleanliness, Yepton was well maintained and spotless. You will need to decide whether to rent a car to get around or use the expensive cabs. That depends on how much you want to get around the island. Gabbie and Douglas will help with that as well. We highly recommend it

I recomend taking an island tour with Steve at Happy Trails. Steve does a fabulous job!

The Perfect Vacation Spot

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, Gabby and Douglas made us feel welcome and did everything possible to ensure our vacation was more than enjoyable. And they succeeded. The cottages are situated on an inland lake and the quiet and solitude was a rare find on a popular beach island. The cottages are comfortable, smartly decorated, and equipped with all items necessary for a beach vacation from beach chairs to a cooler. We could also easily access the beaches, museums and points of interest. It was the perfect vacation spot.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

We would recommend renting a car to explore all the beaches at one’s own pace, especially since the island is surrounded by both the Carribean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. A rental car is also great if you are not staying at an all-inclusive resort because the restaurants are not close by.

Relaxing and Tranquil Place

If you read some or all reviews for the Yepton Estate you understand how special this place is. Gabby and Doug make the difference. Very personable but not imposing service, great first-hand knowledge of the island affairs, always ready to recommend a beach, restaurant or places to see based on your interest. This is a perfect place to relax and enjoy a quiet time after spending much of the day on one of the exploring the island. We just came back after a week-long vacation and I am already checking tickets for possible come back in the near future. I cannot think of anything that would make this place batter.

a car is a must

Can’t wait to go back!

We just came back from our stay at Yepton Estate Cottages. We can’t wait to go back again. We renewed our vows on the beach. It is a beautiful and private place to stay. Gabriella and Douglas took such great care of us while we were there. They really go above and beyond to help you with anything you may need, from giving you cell phones to use, taking you grocery shopping, recommending places to eat and much more. This was by far the best vacation we have ever had!

Traveler's tip on dining

Definitely have Gabriella make a reservation at the Sheer restaurant. It overlooks the ocean, it is beautiful and it was the best meal we have ever had!

We’re going back!

We stayed at Yepton Estate Cottages on our honeymoon from 16 Nov - 25 Nov. It was a great 10 days and we’re hoping to one day go back. It was combination of relaxation and adventure. We were adventurous during the day and enjoyed quietly retreating back to Yepton during the nights. Gabriela and Douglass were extremely helpful, easy to get a hold of, and fun-loving people. We had a great view of the lake and were a short 30 second drive from the beach. My wife’s eyes lit up when she walked into the cottage...very clean, updated and comfortable. From what I could tell, there aren’t too many places like Yepton on the island. Most are big hotels that lack the privacy/intimacy/uniqueness of a place like Yepton. The pool was sufficient for sunning and there is a nice lake with a small little boat tucked alongside the shore. Honeymooners, you’ve found your spot!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Deep-sea fishing with Overdraft! Red Snapper at Papa Zouk’s; Shirley Heights on a Sunday; fruit/vegetable market in St John’s; Long Bay Beach was our favorite and offers the best snorkeling; DEFINITELY rent a compact SUV and explore the island!

Perfect home away from home

The studio cottage we stayed in offered us all the comforts of home and is located in beautiful tranquil garden setting. The service is exceptional--Gabby and Douglas offered an abundance of information about the island whenever needed and were attentive to all our needs. We couldn’t have asked for anything more from staying here.

The perfect vacation! Highly recommended!

Gabby & Doug are very helpful and want to ensure a perfect vacation. The cottages are practical and tastefully decorated! Perfect for a ’do it your self’ vacation! We used the BBQ for almost every dinner (that will save you a few $ too).

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Rent a car to see the island and go out for dinner. However, be careful. Driving is on the left, the roads are narrow, full of pot holes, and the locals drive fast.

A Wonderful Place.....

The Yepton Estate Cottages were perfect for us. They are fully equipped, comfortable and clean. There are only four and they are located beside a salt pond that is teeming with bird life. It is just a short walk to the beach. Our hosts were knowledgable as well as gracious. We were very pleased.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

Antigua is a lovely. You are going to be disappointed if you are expecting it to be like St. Martin. Go for the natural beauty of the place, not if you are looking for exciting night life. The driving can be a little stressful because they drive on the left and the roads are often pot holed or unpaved. Don’t let that stop you.

A Wondreful Experience

As soon as we pulled up in our taxi (pretty late at night I might add) the owners, Gabriela and Douglas, were there to greet us and help get us settled in. They take care of everything! They gave us a mobile phone for use, arranged our rental car that was brought to us at the cottage, reserved spots for us on the rainforest zip lining tour.....and Doug even gave me a fishing pole to try and catch some tarpoon out of the lagoon on the property! The accomodations were excellent! The cottages are equipped with everything you may need and more. Staying at Yepton felt to us like staying at a good friends house. I cannot say enough great things about our stay or Gabriela and Douglas.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Yepton beats the heck out of any of the all-inclusive hotels on the island hands down! Since it’s not all-inclusive and no restaurants are nearby, you will need to do some shopping for groceries. Don;t worry, Doug will tell you where everything is!

Leaving Yepton = Total Depression!!! :)

My husband and I were here from 15 - 22 December. We were looking for someplace quiet, private, and relaxing. We chose Yepton based on the glowing reviews and we are so happy we did. It exceeded our expectations in every regard. The cottages are wonderful - fully equipped with everything you could want. The grill on the patio was awesome - we cooked on it almost every night and loved eating outside while we enjoyed the view. Gaby and Douglas are just as fabulous as everyone says. They brought our luggage to the cottage, had drinks and a card waiting for us (it was our one year anniversary), took us grocery shopping, arranged taxi’s, a rental car, and a day trip to Barbuda for us, went over a map of Antigua to help us plan our day exploring... I could go on and on... Gaby even brought over some rubbing alcohol when she heard I had bug bites and one other time brought over olive oil, because I had forgotten to get any at the grocery store. Where else are you going to get this kind of service??? My husband and I have both traveled extensively and have stayed in all kinds of places - from hostels to All-Inclusive Resorts, and my husband says this is absolutely the best and favorite place he has stayed. I’d have to agree. We loved our vacation, would go back in a heartbeat, and will miss chatting with Gaby and Douglas.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Get a rental car and drive around the island - don’t be intimidated - it’s so much fun. Go to Barbuda - the island is beautiful...

Absolutely Amazing!!

The Yepton Estate Cottages are absolutely amazing! I took my girfriend here for her birthday and she loved it! If you want the perfect romantic get-a-way, this is it! There are four private cottages, (2) are one bedroom cottages and (2) are one room studio cottages. They are all fully equiped with everything that you could possibly want and need. The cottages are perfectly located around a lake which is full of beautiful wildlife and just a short walk to the beach! Gaby and Douglas (the owners) are the most amazing people that you would ever want to meet. They made our stay everything that we wanted it to be and more. As soon as we arrived they took care of everything! They went out of there way to make sure that we got the most out of our vacation! You could’nt ask for a better place to stay! We will definately go again and stay at Yepton Estate Cottages! Tim & Lisa

Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gabby and Douglas welcomed us and took care of us so that we had a great vacation. They have lived in Antigua for quite some time and know all the ins and outs and are very good guides. They’ll even come and get you if you run out of gas in your rental car or if you drink a little too much on one of the island cruises and can’t walk back home. This is a great place to stay and it’s beautiful.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

The kitchen allows you to save on meals which are very expensive in Antigua. You’ll get good advice on what is good and what is not.

Relaxing and better than expectations

We stayed here July 07 for our honeymoon. It was awesome! Very quiet and relaxing, which is just what we needed to unwind. Cottages are in perfect condition and look brand new (they have been open for about 1.5 years). The owners are very helpful and accommodating. Two beaches are nearby within a very short walk, and they are clear, calm, and uncrowded. We would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return in the future.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

The kitchen is very well equipped. There are not many restaurants nearby, so we went grocery shopping and were able to make most everything in the kitchen, which saved us a lot of money! (And it was nice not to have to leave the cottage.)

Perfect

This is a wonderful place to stay if you’re looking not looking for a big resort type spot. Teh kitchens in the cottages are fully equipped with most anything you’d need. The Hotel owner is very willing to accomodate and help you figure out what to do. You feel like you’re staying at someone’s private, secluded home instead of a hotel. We loved it.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Rent a car to drive around the island.
