Good location - hotel needs upgrading
There are wonderful views of the Bay from Waters Edge; sit at the lounge or pool to enjoy the sights. The staff is helpful. However, the rooms have seen better days. The bedding is thin, the walls are thin (you can hear conversations & running water from other rooms), the floors creak, even the beds creak, and the décor is dated (pink toilet with a wooden toilet seat!). Bring shampoo, the hotel only provides soap. The breakfast was nothing special. Not a bad place,if you are expecting a backpackers type of hotel, and not a 2 star resort.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Take a walk to Cockington, which is a quaint village with thatched roof cottages. It is approx 1 mile from the hotel, and is a nice easy walk. Ask the hotel staff for a brochure, which has a map and details of the cottages.
