Great hotel
Beautiful new looking hotel with nicely updated bathrooms. Service by the staff was very professional and excellent all round. They gave very helpful tips about sights and transportation. One thing, their recommended restaurants were good but nothing too special. One can look around and find similarly priced restaurants in a nice location e.g. by the Grand Canal near the Rialto Bridge. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh. Also, hotel is in a very cnetral location, near both St. Marks and the Rialto Bridge.
Traveler's tip
The hotel is extremely convenient to get to by water taxi. Definitely worth the cost if you have a lot of luggage, which we did. It is literally steps away from where the water taxi drops you off, with no bridges to cross.

Great Experience!
Of all the people we met in a 12 day trip to Europe, the manager of this hotel was the most friendly and accommodating. This is a small, elegant hotel that is only a 10 minute walk from the main plaza and the rooms are beautiful. They are much larger than most European rooms and have a wonderful bathtub and separate shower. It was a real highlight of our trip to Italy.

Great Hotel in a Beautiful City
We were most satisfied with the Dei Dragomanni, which we stayed at for three nights in late May. Though slightly off the beaten path, and located towards the end of an unfrequented alley, it is a beautiful hotel with extrememly comfortable rooms. The staff was most friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself is only about a ten minute walk from San Marco. All in all, a great hotel that we would certainly stay at again.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
As many others have said, use the vaporetto. There is a stop literally two minutes from the hotel, and the vaporetto itself is extremely easy to use. Just get a 24, 48, or 72 hour pass, and hop on/off all the way around Venice. If you get a good seat in the front, the view is just as good as from a gondola for a tenth of the cost.
