Not a real 4-star hotel!
The room is quite disappointed and not well maintained. However, the location and the layout is pretty good, especially tropical environment.The food is OK but you need to pay extra for those reserved restaurants, like paying $35 each for sea food and French dinner. The overall service is good. I don’t feel too comfortable for those ’Promoters’ pushing us to sell their products. They just ruin our vacation mood! Next time I would like to try a newer hotel.
Traveler's tip on shopping
The shopping plaza is just outside the hotel, but you can’t walk in this hot humid weather. You have to book a taxi and ask the driver to pick you up at certain time. It costs us $5. Keep it in mind "Bargain, bargain" Don’t be shy to reply in a lower price. We pay $50 for a 4-foot mask as they quote us $240 from the beginning! They are very pushing and too friendly. Bottom line is : they are really cheap!

Family of Six
Food was good and plentiful. Bathrooms in good repair. Water was hot. Needed to switch rooms due to bad air conditioner. No problems, done in half an hour. Pools are clean and safe. Plenty of lounge chairs. Be careful about your documents. DR is notorious for getting caught up in adminitrative paperwork. Make sure your COnfirmation letter matches your Booking EXACTLY. Any differences will cost you time and start your vacation off on the wrong foot!
Review Confirmation Letter closely. Dominican Republic very stringent about documents. Our letter did not EXACTLY match the Booking. A lot of Administrative dialog. Told is was about Fraud Detection. Carry documents for each family member.

Tropical Princess Beach Resort
Very nice beach, beautiful see and white sand, but the room was quite worn out, some things broken or not working. There was no TV remote. Otherwise, food and service were pretty good, hotel personnel friendly.
